Season 1 turned an oddball premise — a chaebol using his fortune as police equipment — into an 11%-rated hit for SBS, enough to justify the two-year wait for a sequel. Flex x Cop‘s first run worked because Ahn Bo-hyun played I-soo’s wealth as a punchline rather than a power fantasy, and there’s no reason to think that instinct disappears with a new season number attached.
What’s actually new is the chain of command. Swapping a same-rank partner for a superior officer who used to make I-soo’s academy days miserable is a sharper engine for comedy than the original’s setup — closer in spirit to the mismatched-rank tension that powered Crash than to a typical buddy-cop reshuffle. Yoo Seung-ho’s cameo as a fellow chaebol heir with a sculptor’s hands is the kind of stunt casting that suggests SBS isn’t treating this as a quiet contract renewal.
None of this has aired yet, so treat every word here as a bet, not a verdict. But the pieces are the right kind of familiar: a proven lead, a premise that already found its audience once, and a new pairing built for exactly the kind of chemistry the trailers are selling hard.

Jin I-soo going from talking his way out of a chairman’s office to getting yelled at by a boss who made him do push-ups is such a perfect setup for this show’s whole vibe 😆 — chaotic but you can tell there’s real affection under the tension. Anyone else find the partner dynamic surprisingly the best part so far?
