All 12 episodes — spoiler-light recaps. Full series completed January 2023 on ENA.

Unlock My Boss Episode 1 — Unlocked
EP 01
Unlocked
Dec 7, 2022 · ENA
After a brutal streak of failed job interviews, In-seong slinks back to his parents’ home and picks up an abandoned phone with a very unusual occupant — a CEO who claims to be trapped inside it. The setup is absurd, but Chae Jong-hyeop sells In-seong’s baffled, reluctant curiosity beautifully, and the episode closes on a choice that sets everything in motion.

Unlock My Boss Episode 2 — The CEO
EP 02
The CEO
Dec 8, 2022 · ENA
In-seong’s first day as acting CEO of Silver Lining is equal parts chaotic and satisfying — he’s got the authority to right workplace wrongs, and he uses it. Meanwhile, the hunt for Seon-ju’s whereabouts on the day of his attack brings Secretary Jung Se-yeon into sharper focus: ally or threat? The episode does smart work keeping that tension alive.

Unlock My Boss Episode 3 — The Unknown Number
EP 03
The Unknown Number
Dec 14, 2022 · ENA
A series of cryptic texts from an unknown number turns into the investigation’s first real break. In-seong engineers a bold gambit at a corporate meeting — collecting every executive’s phone and then dialing the number. When one device rings in the room, the circle of suspects suddenly contracts. A crowd-pleasing detective beat that earns its applause.

Unlock My Boss Episode 4 — The Secret
EP 04
The Secret
Dec 15, 2022 · ENA
Se-yeon is finally let in on the truth — the CEO in the phone is real, and she and In-seong are now co-conspirators. The trio’s dynamic gets a proper foundation here, and the episode smartly uses Se-yeon’s skepticism as the audience’s own. A mysterious man near the disappearance site hints at how deep the conspiracy runs.

Unlock My Boss Episode 5 — The Attack
EP 05
The Attack
Dec 21, 2022 · ENA
Witnessing real violence up close shakes In-seong badly enough that he retreats to his family — a reminder that he’s a regular person playing a very dangerous game. But the pull to find answers is stronger than the fear, and he returns to dig into who targeted Mr. Kwak. The episode earns its emotional weight without melodrama.

Unlock My Boss Episode 6 — Internal Conflict
EP 06
Internal Conflict
Dec 22, 2022 · ENA
In-seong gets dragged into the messy power struggle at Bumyoung Group, navigating corporate warfare he was never prepared for. Meanwhile, the push to extract information from Kwak Sam-su calls for some inventive pressure — both In-seong and Se-yeon going to lengths that blur the line between resourceful and reckless. The thriller gears really start turning.

Unlock My Boss Episode 7 — New Lead
EP 07
New Lead
Dec 28, 2022 · ENA
Threats escalating and nerves fraying, In-seong steps away briefly — only to return with renewed resolve. Retracing their steps yields a clue nobody had thought to look for, one that cracks the case open in a new direction. The midpoint of the series finds its second wind here, and the pacing tightens noticeably.

Unlock My Boss Episode 8 — Business Decision
EP 08
Business Decision
Dec 29, 2022 · ENA
With the CEO-in-a-phone temporarily out of the loop, In-seong faces a consequential corporate call on his own — and the episode quietly marks how far he’s grown from the fumbling grad who answered a stranger’s phone. Surveillance on a key suspect begins, setting the stage for the endgame to unfold.

Unlock My Boss Episode 9 — The Body
EP 09
The Body
Jan 4, 2023 · ENA
Everything clicks into place — Seon-ju’s actual body is located at the enemy’s base, and the identity of the mastermind finally becomes clear. In-seong’s response is not panic but strategy: a plan to turn the conspirators against each other. The episode is the series’ most satisfying, the point where the payoff for patient viewers begins in earnest.

Unlock My Boss Episode 10 — The Plan
EP 10
The Plan
Jan 5, 2023 · ENA
The phone is stolen — but that was the move all along. In-seong’s deliberate sacrifice sends the enemy chasing a trap while Seon-ju is moved to the enemy compound. Operating without his AI lifeline, In-seong learns what the role of CEO actually demands, carrying the weight of people depending on him. The episode sharpens both the stakes and the character.

Unlock My Boss Episode 11 — Unlocked Again
EP 11
Unlocked Again
Jan 11, 2023 · ENA
In-seong is reinstated at the head of Silver Lining, but the war isn’t over — someone on the inside may be feeding information to the enemy. He and Se-yeon engineer a scheme to flush out the mole, and a dangerous side deal is made to recover Seon-ju’s body, with consequences neither of them fully anticipates. Penultimate tension done right.

Unlock My Boss Episode 12 — The Truth Revealed
EP 12
The Truth Revealed
Jan 12, 2023 · ENA
The finale pulls back the curtain on the show’s biggest twist — and unravels every loose thread with efficiency. Villains face justice, loyalties are honoured, and a time-jump offers an earned glimpse at where everyone lands. Not every answer is tidy, but the emotional beats land cleanly and In-seong’s journey concludes in a way that feels genuinely satisfying.

🏁 Ending Explained

⚠️
Spoiler Warning — This section covers the full finale of Unlock My Boss. Stop here if you haven’t finished the series.

The reveal that reframes everything. The most audacious twist Unlock My Boss saves for its finale is the revelation that Kim Seon-ju was never literally trapped inside a phone. He was in a coma all along — placed there after the attack — and what In-seong had been speaking to was Baro, an advanced AI that Seon-ju built and pre-programmed with enough of his own personality, knowledge, and decision-making ability to act as a proxy. The implication lands hard: every piece of advice, every corporate move, every piece of emotional connection in that phone was real enough to matter — but it was always a machine running in the shape of a man.

Unlock My Boss (2022) Episode 11 — Unlocked Again

The trap is sprung. In-seong and Se-yeon allow Oh Mi-ran to acquire the updated Baro 4.0 — but the handover is the bait, not the loss. Using the AI as leverage, they orchestrate a confrontation between Mi-ran and Vice-Chairman Oh Young-geun that destroys the alliance between the two villains. Oh Young-geun, faced with exposure, cooperates with investigators and delivers evidence of Mi-ran’s crimes against Seon-ju. The plan is surgical: make the enemy collapse from within rather than fight them head-on.

The dominos fall. Police secure enough corroboration to flip Chauffeur Noh Wi-je, and Ha Jong-baek — a figure who spent the series hovering at the edges of the conspiracy — provides the final piece: evidence of Mi-ran’s attempt on Seon-ju’s life. Mi-ran’s staged public showcase of the self-driving car technology becomes the site of her undoing, as In-seong exposes her crimes live on broadcast with surgical-cut video evidence. She drives off in panic and crashes into a police station. Butler Shim Seung-bo, whose complicity ran deeper than most suspected, turns himself in. The finale does not spare its antagonists.

Unlock My Boss (2022) Episode 6 — Internal Conflict

Where everyone ends up. Two years pass. Kim Seon-ju remains hospitalised and unconscious at home, cared for and visited regularly by his daughter Min-ah — but the camera catches his eyes moving in the final moments, leaving open the possibility that he may yet wake. Oh Mi-ran is serving her prison sentence. Vice-Chairman Oh Young-geun, his business empire dismantled, takes his own life. The ending doesn’t sanitise the consequences — people who destroyed others are destroyed in return.

In-seong and Se-yeon. The epilogue gives the show’s emotional core a satisfying resolution: In-seong, who came into the story as a jobseeker with nothing to offer, is now an actor — a career pivot that makes perfect sense for a man who spent twelve episodes performing a role he wasn’t supposed to be able to play. He and Se-yeon are together, the partnership forged in conspiracy becoming something warmer and permanent. It’s a quiet ending for a show that began with a man talking to a phone, and it earns the warmth. Unlock My Boss ultimately argues that competence isn’t something you’re born with — it’s something a strange enough situation forces out of you.

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take

Our honest read on why this drama is worth your time — and who it’s for.

📱 CEO in Your Pocket🕵️ Corporate Whodunit😂 Reluctant Hero Energy⚡ Plot Twists

Unlock My Boss works because it commits to its absurd premise with complete sincerity. The idea of a murdered CEO living inside a smartphone should collapse under its own silliness, but director Lee Chul-ha and writer Kim Hyeong-min treat the mystery with enough genuine craft that you stop questioning the premise around episode two and just go with it. Chae Jong-hyeop is the anchor — his Park In-seong is endearing without being bumbling, and the show is smart enough to let him grow. By the time he’s making corporate decisions solo, you believe every beat of that arc. Park Sung-woong, meanwhile, manages the rare trick of being charismatic and present without a physical performance, and the Seon-ju-in-a-phone dynamic stays funny across all twelve episodes rather than overstaying its welcome.

Unlock My Boss (2022) — cinematic still

The thriller mechanics are tighter than you might expect from an ENA drama built on a comedic webtoon premise. The conspiracy at Bumyoung Group unfolds with patience — suspects are introduced properly, clues are planted fairly, and the finale’s big reveal about Baro the AI actually recontextualises earlier scenes in satisfying ways rather than feeling like a cheat. Where the show is softer is in its villains: Lee Sang-hee’s Oh Mi-ran is menacing, but the supporting antagonists are more functional than fully drawn. The romance between In-seong and Se-yeon is similarly restrained — fans expecting the show to go full rom-com will find the relationship handled with a lighter touch than they might want, though Ghost Doctor scratches a very similar itch if the supernatural-workplace comedy-mystery formula appeals.

For a twelve-episode ENA drama that didn’t have the budget or the platform of its contemporaries, Unlock My Boss punches well above its weight. It’s tight, it’s fun, it’s genuinely clever in places, and it lands its ending cleanly — a combination rarer than it should be. If you’ve been sleeping on it because ENA didn’t have the same signal as Netflix or JTBC in 2022, consider this your invitation to catch up.
