Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) (Season 2)
📋 Drama Overview
A fast rundown of what this one’s about.
Season 2 picks up with the three women of the radio show still in the middle of their marriages’ collapse. Boo Hye-ryung is trying to save her marriage to Pan Sa-hyeon while Song Won’s pregnancy hangs over it; Lee Si-eun is living with the news that her ex-husband Park Hae-ryun is seeing Nam Ga-bin; and Sa Pi-young finds out that her husband Shin Yu-sin has been seeing a woman named A-mi.
The new element is a ghost: the late Shin Gi-rim is seen around the house, and his widow Kim Dong-mi uses it as a reason to move in with her son. The season runs sixteen episodes on TV Chosun and, according to the finale recaps we read, ends on a possession scene instead of a conclusion. This is the middle chapter of three seasons, so expect threads to be carried over rather than tied up.

🏁 Ending Explained
Everything that happens in the finale, explained in full — spoilers ahead.
Nothing is settled Both recaps we read agree that the season ends without a conclusion. TheReviewGeek (August 8, 2021) calls it a finale with no closure for any character. Ready Steady Cut says it has no climax and mostly raises new questions. The biggest event on the romance side is Nam Ga-bin’s breakup. Seo Dong-ma, her former boyfriend, takes her out, buys her clothes and sets up a picnic, and questions whether she loves Park Hae-ryun. The two recaps differ slightly on the wording: TheReviewGeek says Ga-bin first asks for time alone, while Ready Steady Cut says she tells Hae-ryun on a night walk that she only likes him and does not truly love him. Both end the same way, with her ending the relationship and Hae-ryun moving out.
Pi-young, Yu-sin and the necklace Sa Pi-young and Shin Yu-sin get the stretch of the finale that TheReviewGeek calls the best segment of the whole two-season run. Yu-sin offers to come for breakfast every day and to drive their daughter Ji-a to school. Per Ready Steady Cut, Pi-young allows the school run and refuses the daily breakfast, and later pulls him in to help with a computer. TheReviewGeek and Ready Steady Cut both describe a late-night drink in which he gives her a necklace for the anniversary of their first official date. She is touched but keeps her guard up, and the evening ends when A-mi arrives, because Pi-young had phoned her herself.
Ga-bin, Si-eun and the weddings After the breakup, Ga-bin turns up outside Lee Si-eun’s apartment, tells her she is being punished for breaking up a marriage and blames that for her parents’ deaths. Si-eun takes her in. In another scene Boo Hye-ryung visits her ex-in-laws, apologises for her press conference and asks to be told when Song Won gives birth. Then the show jumps ahead without explanation. According to Ready Steady Cut, Sa-hyeon is at a wedding where the bride is A-mi, Seo Ban’s bride is Song Won, and Dong-ma walks down an aisle beside Pi-young. TheReviewGeek calls the pairings baffling and says there is no context for them. The season 3 recaps show that these were not straight previews: there, Seo Ban marries Si-eun, and Pi-young marries Dong-ma.
What the sources do not tell us Neither recap says what happens to Hye-ryung after the apology, whether Song Won’s baby is born outside a vision, whether the scandal around Sa-hyeon blew over, or whether Hae-ryun and Si-eun get back together. TheReviewGeek lists these as unanswered questions. They are not answered in the summaries we read, so we do not answer them here either: not reported.
The last scene: a possession The season closes with Ji-a walking up to Yu-sin and Dong-mi. She calls Yu-sin ‘son’, then calls Dong-mi by her full name. Both recaps read this as Ji-a being possessed by Shin Gi-rim’s spirit, and she reaches for Dong-mi’s neck before the screen cuts to black. This is the season’s one clear hook. TheReviewGeek gave the episode a 0.5 and called it a waste of two seasons; Ready Steady Cut was less harsh but also said the plot lost its focus. Season 3, 16 more episodes, aired February to May 2022.
✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take
Here’s our real take, and exactly who this one’s for.
If season 1 was about marriages cracking, season 2 is about what the characters do once the cracks are public: press conferences, ultimatums and a whole subplot about who gets to visit whom. It rides the same engine as Season 1, a reveal, a reaction and a new lie, but with the supernatural thread added on top.
The brightest spot, by TheReviewGeek’s account, is the Pi-young and Yu-sin storyline, which builds toward the late-night necklace scene in the finale. If you like your melodrama with a corporate-families-at-war bent, The Penthouse (Season 1) takes the same appetite for scandal and scales it up.
The finale is the weak point. Two independent recaps use the words ‘no closure’ and ‘more questions’, and neither is inclined to be kind about the flash-forward weddings. Treat the season as a bridge, not a destination.
