A Love So Beautiful
📋 Drama Overview
Before you hit play, here’s the lay of the land.
Shin Sol-i has never been shy about her feelings for Cha Heon, the boy who lives next door. She writes him a love letter, cheers him on, and takes on school contests to buy him a birthday gift, while Heon barely answers. Swimmer Woo Dae-sung, her close friend, is always around when things go wrong.
The series follows the two from school into adulthood, and the relationship changes as the friends go through university entrance, job hunts and a wedding. It is a youth romance told in short episodes, and the question the whole way through is whether Heon will ever answer her.

📺 Episode Guide
A light recap per episode — nothing more than a nudge.
🏁 Ending Explained
The finale, unpacked in full. Consider yourself warned.
Heon and Sol-i promise to marry Sports Khan’s finale report says Cha Heon and Shin Sol-i, who have loved each other since their school days, promise to marry, and that the series closes on a happy ending. The Review Geek’s episode 24 recap fills in the scene: Heon records a video message for Sol-i and says he will not let her go, and Sol-i shares her dream of marrying the man she likes. The episode is built as a look back, and the TMDB synopsis describes Heon telling Sol-i how he came to fall in love with her.
The last line Per Sports Khan, Heon’s closing words are, in the paper’s Korean, a thank-you for staying beside him from those beautiful days until now. It is a plain ending line for a drama that never stopped being about that: two people who knew each other since childhood and one of them taking years to say it.
A wedding, or a promise? The two sources do not describe the same step. Sports Khan says the pair promise to marry. The Review Geek’s recap has Sol-i talking about her dream of marrying someone she likes, and readers in the comments point out that the finale shows no wedding between Heon and Sol-i. We have followed that: the ending is a commitment and a shared future, not a ceremony on screen. The only wedding in the closing stretch is the one in episode 21, for Ha-young and Jin-hwan.
Dae-sung and the rest of the group Neither article we read says how Woo Dae-sung’s storyline ends. We know from the episode 22 synopsis that he decides to tell Sol-i his feelings, and from episode 15 that his arm injury threatened his swimming career. What happens after that, and the final position of Hui-ji, is not covered by the finale reports, so we are not going to guess. Ha-young and Jin-hwan are the one confirmed pair, married in episode 21.
Bloopers and the feel of the finale The Review Geek notes that the episode ends with bloopers, which fits the tone of a drama that stayed light and warm to the last frame. In Korea the series finished on February 20, 2021 after 24 short episodes, and Sports Khan reports more than 37 million total views.
✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take
Straight talk on whether this one’s worth watching, and for who.
Sol-i is the type of lead who says everything out loud, and the first episode is built on that: a love letter, a boy who does not answer, and a crush everyone around her already knows about. The setup is a close cousin of Love Alarm (Season 1), another Netflix youth romance about waiting for someone to feel the same way, though the tone here is much lighter and the episodes are about 24 minutes each.
The pairing works because the show lets Heon be bad at this for a long time. The episode synopses are full of small letdowns, from the class representative vote to the football-match Saturday that turns sour, and the first kiss does not arrive until episode 17. If you liked the slow, nostalgic summer feel of Our Beloved Summer, this plays at a smaller scale with teenagers instead of adults.
The back third moves the story past graduation, with job hunts, a possible move to America and a wedding for two of the friends. Not every viewer will like the jump, and the finale leaves some side characters without a reported ending. It is still a short, easy watch for anyone who wants a gentle first-love story.
