Han-byeol shows up with drinks and calms him down anyway, viral humiliation and all — proof that keeping Tae-seong functional has quietly become her actual job description.

Tae-seong keeps trying to get Han-byeol’s attention and keeps losing to her actual schedule — and to Do Su-hyeok, StarForce’s new legal advisor, who’s charming in a way that visibly bothers him. A college-era flashback reframes his old antagonism completely: he once quietly had embarrassing couple brochures pulled and replaced to spare her from harassment, a kindness he never told her about. Then Su-hyeok moves into the apartment right next door to Tae-seong, and the love triangle stops being subtext.

Having Do Su-hyeok as a neighbor turns out to be its own form of torture for Tae-seong, especially once he starts throwing housewarming parties clearly designed to get the PR team — meaning Han-byeol — through his door. Watching his manager fall for someone is apparently what finally makes Tae-seong admit, at least to himself, what his own irritation has actually been about. Han-byeol isn’t ready to go anywhere near that conclusion; she’s been burned by an unrequited crush on him before, and she’s not eager for a repeat.

If I Confess My Love…

Tae-seong, now fully aware of how he feels, launches into a series of confession schemes so elaborate they’d be more effective as comedy than romance — and mostly are, since Han-byeol reads every gesture as another one of his pranks. Su-hyeok gets there first anyway, confessing plainly at his own housewarming party while the whole PR team watches. Tae-seong crashes the party to do the same, less polished but more sincere, and Han-byeol’s response is to panic and physically leave. Two confessions in one episode, and she’s still no closer to knowing what she wants.

Rules of Kissing

Two confessions in one week leaves Han-byeol reeling, and Tae-seong’s past resurfaces at the worst possible time when actress Eun Si-woo — someone clearly unresolved — reenters his life. A scripted kiss on his current drama set does what nothing else has managed: it makes Han-byeol’s jealousy impossible for her to keep denying. A rookie pair on the same production find real chemistry in their own kissing scene, a lighter mirror of the mess playing out around them. By the end of the episode, confused as she is, Han-byeol chooses to go to Tae-seong anyway.

A Star’s Lover

A dinner with Su-hyeok, of all people, is what finally forces Han-byeol to admit who she actually wants — his sincerity makes the choice obvious even as it costs him the outcome he was hoping for. She shows up at Tae-seong’s door late at night, and the kiss that follows makes it official. A ridiculous rumor pairs Tae-seong with Su-hyeok instead of her, which the PR team scrambles to kill, but the real cliffhanger is quieter: Tae-seong’s housekeeper Myeong-hui gets recognized by Eun Si-woo from somewhere neither of them will explain.

Scaling Mountains

Yu-seong’s suspicion about Myeong-hui pays off fast — matching necklaces and a background check unravel a fabricated identity, and she doesn’t wait to be caught before turning on Tae-seong herself, confronting him with old grievances and worse intentions than anyone guessed. It’s a genuinely unsettling turn dropped into an otherwise breezy episode. On a lighter note, Ho-yeong finally says out loud what she’s felt for Yu-seong for a while, and Gi-ppeum’s damage-control interview with Su-hyeok accidentally becomes its own spark. Tae-seong, shaken, finds his footing again in Han-byeol.

Warning! Do Not Fall for Good Looks

A cryptic anti-fan message arrives with a StarForce ID card attached, and the implication — that the threat is coming from inside the company — rattles Tae-seong more than the message itself. A photo of Eun Si-woo hugging him outside his apartment reignites dating rumors at the worst time, right as Han-byeol is already second-guessing the relationship thanks to Myeong-hui’s parting shots. The episode unmasks Tae-seong’s former manager Kang Min-kyu as the leak behind at least one of the photos. Tae-seong’s response is uncharacteristically direct: he tells Han-byeol she’s his first and last love, and for once it lands exactly as intended.

Rumors of Rumors of a Rumor

An affair rumor with Eun Si-woo — engineered by Kang Min-kyu — spirals fast enough that Tae-seong collapses under it, panic attack and all, while Han-byeol and Su-hyeok physically run interference against the press. The obvious fix is telling the truth: Si-woo isn’t his lover, she’s his mother. But that’s exactly the secret Tae-seong has spent his career protecting, and the agency won’t force it out of him. Gi-ppeum, to her credit, refuses to file the speculative story everyone else is running, even when it costs her standing at work. It’s the show’s darkest stretch, and it earns the weight it’s asking for.

Eun Si-woo ends the affair rumor the only way that actually works — telling the truth in public, that Tae-seong is her son, and that she chose her career over raising him. It costs her something real to say, and it briefly costs Han-byeol her relationship with Tae-seong, who needs a minute to understand she orchestrated the whole thing to protect him. Mother and son finally have the conversation they’ve both been avoiding for years, regret and love in roughly equal measure. In the background, the anniversary of a friend’s death starts pulling at both Tae-seong and Han-byeol, a quieter grief the show has been saving for later.

The anti-fan mystery closes quietly: it’s Gwi-nong, Yun-u’s former manager, acting out of grief that curdled into hatred over the years since Yun-u’s death. He turns himself in, and Tae-seong — understanding that grief better than anyone — chooses not to press charges. He and Han-byeol finally talk through their shared guilt about losing their friend, the kind of conversation the show has been building toward all season. Then, almost as an afterthought, CEO Ji-hun walks in on the two of them mid-hug, and the secret relationship stops being secret.

Keeping the relationship secret gets harder by the day, so naturally Tae-seong’s solution is to invent an elaborate cover story — a ‘method acting’ excuse to embed himself in the PR office full-time, ostensibly for a future drama role. It fools approximately no one; his affection is so obvious that the entire team is exhausted by it within a day. Elsewhere, the supporting cast starts closing out their own arcs — Yu-seong and Ho-yeong go public, Gi-ppeum and Su-hyeok make it official, and a surprise pregnancy fast-tracks a proposal. The show is visibly setting every table for its finale.

All Sorts of People Who Clean Up Stars’ Messes

The relationship goes public the way most things do in this show — a leaked photo, not a plan — and Han-byeol’s old instinct to hide from scrutiny runs straight into Tae-seong’s total lack of interest in hiding anymore. A StarForce wedding for Jae-hyun and Yu-na brings the whole cast together one last time, and Tae-seong’s attempt at a romantic, low-key Jeju trip gets comically derailed by the same honeymooning couple. By the end, Han-byeol stops managing the relationship like a crisis and starts just living in it. Yu-seong steps up as director, Ho-yeong rises to entertainment leader, and the finale closes exactly where a show about cleaning up other people’s messes should: with its own finally, happily sorted.

What actually happened The finale’s central question — will Han-byeol let her relationship with Tae-seong become public knowledge — gets answered almost by accident. A leaked photo forces the issue before either of them is fully ready, but Tae-seong’s response is immediate: he wants the world to know, no hesitation. Han-byeol’s arc closes with her choosing the same thing on her own terms, not because the secret got out but because she’s finally not afraid of what happens when it does.

The supporting cast gets a genuinely satisfying group landing instead of an afterthought. Jae-hyun and Yu-na’s wedding brings the whole StarForce family into one room, Yu-seong and Ho-yeong go from workplace flirtation to the real thing, and Gi-ppeum and Su-hyeok’s slow-build romance finally gets its official label. For a show this crowded with subplots, almost nobody gets left stranded.

The question the finale actually answers What the ending is really about is control — specifically, who gets to control the story of your own life when your job is controlling everyone else’s. Han-byeol spends sixteen episodes managing Tae-seong’s image, and the finale’s real payoff is her finally managing her own, choosing visibility instead of the safety of staying hidden. It’s a neat inversion of her entire job description, and the show earns it by making her fear of exposure feel real for fifteen episodes first.

The Jeju trip that closes out the couple’s arc is deliberately, almost defiantly unglamorous — no grand declaration, just two people trying to have a normal vacation and getting comically interrupted by newlyweds and film crews. After a season built on manufactured scandals and real crises alike, letting the ending be small and a little silly is its own kind of statement.

The KDW verdict Sh**ting Stars ends exactly the way its best episodes always played — funny first, sincere underneath, with just enough weight from the anti-fan and birth-secret plots to make the romance actually mean something by the time it’s official. It doesn’t reinvent the workplace rom-com, but it executes the formula about as well as the genre gets, and Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-dae’s chemistry carries every version of the joke.
