Seo A-ri (Park Gyu-young) used to have money. Now she sells cosmetics door to door after her father’s company collapsed — until a chance reunion with an old high school classmate, Oh Min-hye (Jun Hyo-seong), pulls her into a world she thought she’d left behind for good. Min-hye is a top influencer now, and she introduces A-ri to the “Gabin Society” — an exclusive circle of online celebrities who smile for each other’s cameras while quietly keeping score on followers, brand deals, and the wealthy men who fund their lifestyles.

With PR executive Ju Seung-hyeok, political heiress Yoon Si-hyeon, and chaebol heir Han Jun-kyung circling her corner, A-ri starts building a name of her own — and starts pushing back against a group that never wanted her at the table in the first place. An anonymous account calling itself “_bbbfamous” begins feeding her damaging secrets about Gabin Society’s members, and what starts as self-defense curdles fast into something closer to a war. By the time the season opens on A-ri’s impossible return from the dead, the real question isn’t how she got famous — it’s what fame actually cost her.

📺 Episode Guide

Spoiler-light recaps — enough to remember where you left off, nothing that ruins the ride.

Celebrity Episode 1 — Back From the Dead
EP 01
Back From the Dead
June 30, 2023
Online it sounds impossible — top influencer Seo A-ri is dead, then suddenly live on camera again, promising to spill everything. The premiere opens on that exact contradiction before rewinding to show how a door-to-door cosmetics seller ended up inside the glittering Gabin Society. Park Gyu-young plays A-ri’s reintroduction to wealth with a watchfulness that suggests she already knows how this ends.

Celebrity Episode 2 — Following, Follower
EP 02
Following, Follower
June 30, 2023
An influencer agency smells opportunity in A-ri’s sudden visibility, while a call from the police reconnects her with someone from her past. Kang Min-hyuk’s Han Jun-kyung starts circling her orbit here, and the episode does the patient work of explaining how the follower economy actually runs on attention as currency. Min-hye’s warmth already feels like a performance worth watching closely.

Celebrity Episode 3 — Likes and Liabilities
EP 03
Likes and Liabilities
June 30, 2023
A public humiliation gives Jun-kyung his first real excuse to step in, and one provocative post turns A-ri’s feed into a warzone of comments. This is also where the anonymous account “_bbbfamous” makes first contact — and the show treats it less like a gimmick than a loaded gun left in plain sight. Jun Hyo-seong’s Min-hye gets noticeably colder by the episode’s end.

Celebrity Episode 4 — Friends in the Shadows
EP 04
Friends in the Shadows
June 30, 2023
A-ri picks up an unlikely defender online while the Gabin women start treating her rapid rise as a personal insult. The episode widens its cameo cast to sell the scale of the influencer world A-ri is climbing into, and the contrast between her real friendships and the Society’s transactional ones starts to sharpen in ways that will matter later.

Celebrity Episode 5 — The Night at Aragon
EP 05
The Night at Aragon
June 30, 2023
A-ri sets her ambitions on Korea’s biggest shopping district just as the Society’s social calendar turns toward a club night that spirals out of control. The Aragon Club sequence is the episode’s centerpiece — glamorous until it isn’t, and ending with a death that nobody at the party wants traced back to them. A-ri included.

Celebrity Episode 6 — Covering Tracks
EP 06
Covering Tracks
June 30, 2023
Lee Dong-gun’s Jin Tae-jeon goes into full damage-control mode over the Aragon incident, while A-ri’s new business gets its first real competitor in her path. The episode quietly establishes Tae-jeon as the Society’s fixer — the man whose job is making problems disappear, whatever it costs. That’s a skill set the back half of the season leans on hard.

Celebrity Episode 7 — The Comeback
EP 07
The Comeback
June 30, 2023
A-ri’s return is a fashion statement and a declaration of war rolled into one, much to Gabin Society’s visible discomfort. Jun-kyung makes his intentions clearer than ever, A-ri’s personal brand gains real traction, and a parade of recognizable cameo faces underlines just how far her reach now extends.

Celebrity Episode 8 — Top of the Feed
EP 08
Top of the Feed
June 30, 2023
A-ri reaches the top of the influencer hierarchy right as Lee Chung-ah’s Yoon Si-hyeon is confronted with something she can’t unsee about her own marriage. A stranger’s appearance at A-ri’s new showroom adds one more loose thread to a season that’s been carefully leaving very few of them tied off.

Celebrity Episode 9 — Cracks in the Crown
EP 09
Cracks in the Crown
June 30, 2023
The Aragon Club cover-up starts leaking into public view as Tae-jeon scrambles harder than ever, and “_bbbfamous” pivots — feeding information to Min-hye instead of A-ri. That single shift tells you everything about how unstable the power balance inside Gabin Society has become.

Celebrity Episode 10 — Breaking Point
EP 10
Breaking Point
June 30, 2023
Online harassment, a collapsing business, and a death close to A-ri push the season into its darkest stretch yet. Park Gyu-young plays the unraveling without ever fully breaking composure on screen, which makes the moments she does crack land that much harder.

Celebrity Episode 11 — Nowhere to Run
EP 11
Nowhere to Run
June 30, 2023
Tragedy among the people closest to A-ri forces her hand, and Si-hyeon finally arrives at the confrontation with Tae-jeon that’s been building since episode six. The episode ends with A-ri’s car going into the river — and a show that has spent ten episodes teaching you not to trust an ending that feels this clean.

Celebrity Episode 12 — Full Circle
EP 12
Full Circle
June 30, 2023
The finale answers nearly every question the season raised — who faked what, who’s really behind “_bbbfamous,” and who’s left standing once Gabin Society finally implodes. A-ri gets her reckoning, but the show’s smartest choice is what she decides to do with it once the cameras stop rolling.

🏁 Ending Explained

Full spoilers ahead — everything that happens in the finale and what it all means.

The Staged Death. Episode 11 ends with A-ri’s car driving into a river, and the finale wastes no time revealing it was always a performance. A-ri never drowned — she escaped the car, vanished from the story she’d built, and let everyone, Gabin Society included, believe she was gone. It’s a bold structural gamble: the show spent ten episodes making A-ri’s downfall feel inevitable, then reveals the downfall itself was the plan.

Celebrity (2023) — A-ri's staged disappearance unravels

The Livestream Wasn’t Real, Either. The “resurrection” broadcast that opens episode one turns out to be a deepfake — engineered by A-ri’s best friend Yoon Jeong-sun and her brother Du-seong, bounced across enough VPNs to make it untraceable. It’s the kind of twist that could feel like a cheat, but the show earns it by spending the whole season establishing exactly how comfortable this world already is with manufactured truth. If influence itself is performance, why would A-ri’s revenge be any different?

Unmasking “_bbbfamous.” The anonymous account that’s been feeding A-ri secrets all season belongs to Seon-yeong, a massage parlor worker who recorded incriminating conversations from wealthy clients and used them to blackmail Gabin Society’s members out of plain resentment for a lifestyle she’d never get to live. It’s the show’s sharpest idea: the most dangerous person in this glamorous world isn’t another influencer — it’s someone the influencers never bothered to actually see. Seon-yeong attempts suicide once exposed but survives and is taken into custody.

Celebrity (2023) — the identity behind _bbbfamous is revealed

Gabin Society Collapses. Once A-ri’s evidence surfaces, there’s no version of the Society that survives intact. Si-hyeon finally divorces Tae-jeon, who faces prison time once the cover-up becomes public. Min-hye elopes with her husband rather than face the fallout. Angela is thrown out by hers. Yu-rang’s standing is destroyed the moment her own husband is arrested. The group’s whole appeal — friendship as a performance of effortless wealth — turns out to be exactly as hollow as A-ri suspected from episode one.

The Aragon Club Reckoning. Jin Chae-hee, who helped bury the truth about the death at Aragon Club back in episode five, is finally arrested for her part in the cover-up. It’s the season’s clearest piece of poetic justice — the incident that kicked off Tae-jeon’s career as a fixer is also the one that finally ends it, and hers.

Celebrity (2023) — Gabin Society's downfall

A-ri’s Choice. With the truth out and the people who wronged her facing consequences, A-ri doesn’t go back to social media stardom. She returns to selling cosmetics door to door — the exact job she had before any of this started. It’s a quiet, almost defiant ending for a show built on the idea that fame is worth any price: A-ri decides it isn’t, and walks away with her name cleared but her ambition deliberately left behind.

What It All Means. Celebrity never pretends the influencer economy is anything other than a marketplace where attention gets converted into power, and power gets converted into cruelty. A-ri’s arc isn’t really about revenge — it’s about realizing the game was never worth winning in the first place. The most radical thing a celebrity can do is choose to stop being one.

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take

Our honest read on why this drama is worth your time — and who it’s for.

📱 Social Media Satire🌟 Glossy & Toxic🔪 Slow-Burn Revenge🎭 Secret Identities💔 Cutthroat Friendships

Park Gyu-young has built a career out of playing women whose stillness reads as strength — It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Sweet Home — and Celebrity might be her most fully realized version of that. A-ri is never the loudest person in any scene, but the camera keeps finding her anyway, and Park plays the character’s calculation without ever tipping into theatrics. It’s a performance built on watching, and the show is smart enough to let her just watch for long stretches.

Celebrity (2023) — cinematic still

The non-linear structure is the show’s most divisive choice, and reasonable people land on both sides of it. Jumping between A-ri’s rise and her “death” keeps the mystery of “_bbbfamous” alive far longer than a straight chronological version could, but it also means the first few episodes ask viewers to hold a lot of unresolved threads at once. The payoff mostly justifies the patience — this fits neatly alongside The Glory and Mask Girl in Netflix’s run of glossy Korean thrillers built around hidden identities, though the romance here is thinner than either of those comparisons might suggest.

What Celebrity gets right is the texture of its world — the curated captions, the brand deals, the way every friendship doubles as a transaction. What it gets wrong is rushing its own conclusion: ten episodes of careful slow burn deserve a finale with more room to breathe than the one it gets. Still, as a portrait of what social media fame actually costs the people chasing it, this is sharper and more cynical than most of its genre peers. It’s less interested in who wins the popularity contest than in why anyone would want to.

👍👍👍 BEST FOR 👍👍👍
📱 Fans of glossy social-media-driven thrillers like Penthouse
🕵️ Viewers who enjoy a slow-burn mystery with a late-game identity reveal
💼 Anyone curious about the dark side of Korea’s influencer economy

⚖️ Final Verdict
What works
Park Gyu-young’s controlled, magnetic lead performance
A genuinely sharp send-up of social media and influencer culture
The “_bbbfamous” mystery keeps almost every episode propulsive
Glossy, expensive-looking production that matches its subject

What to know first
Non-linear structure can feel disorienting in the first few episodes
Romance is minimal — not the show to watch for that angle
Some supporting performances land flatter than the leads
The finale resolves a lot very quickly after a slow build

8.2 / 10A sharp, glossy social media thriller carried by Park Gyu-young — worth it even though the finale moves faster than the slow burn that built it.
