Summer Vacation
📋 Drama Overview
A fast rundown of what this one’s about.
Kim Ha-yeon is an ordinary 18-year-old who dreams of a more dramatic fate than the one she has. When her father’s business trip takes her to the country village of Upo-ri for the summer break, she meets Jo Yu-gyeom, the heir of a head family who has spent his life repeating the same days inside his family’s rules. He is a talented swimmer, but you wouldn’t know it from how he lives.
The drama tells what happens when a girl suddenly walks into a boy’s otherwise dull life. Their summer turns mysterious, and the two begin to change each other’s destinies. Summer Vacation premieres October 26, 2026 on Wavve and airs on Lifetime, with 10 episodes every Monday and Tuesday through November 24.

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take
Our honest take — is it worth your time, and who’s it really for.
A summer away from home, a stranger who changes everything: it is a familiar teen-romance setup, but Summer Vacation adds a layer of mystery that makes the village feel like more than a backdrop. Fans of the gentle, nostalgic mood of Our Beloved Summer should find a similar warmth here, scaled down to a youth story and a tighter 10-episode run.
Cho Yi-hyun plays a girl who wants her life to feel important, and Jinyoung plays a boy whose life already feels too fixed. That pairing is the heart of the show. The fantasy thread will need a careful hand to stay in the same register as the romance, the way Twinkling Watermelon blended the magical and the personal.
This is a preview, written before episode one has aired. The drama finished filming in 2023 and waited years for a release, so the production has had time to settle. We’ll update this post with a full review once it is on air.
