Love Triangle

Seon Tae-hyung (Bae In-hyuk) and Woo Hyun-jin (Roh Jeong-eui) are twenty-eight-year-olds connected by their siblings’ marriage — and not much else. They’ve been in-laws for years without ever getting close. That distance ends overnight when a car accident takes both siblings, leaving behind a twenty-month-old named Woo-ju — whose name, in Korean, means “universe.” Neither Tae-hyung nor Hyun-jin is ready to be a parent. Neither is willing to walk away.

What follows is a cohabitation drama built around something more demanding than romantic tension: an actual baby who needs feeding, soothing, and keeping alive. Tae-hyung — a photography assistant who grew up in an orphanage after his older brother left him there — finds in Woo-ju a connection he never knew he was missing. Hyun-jin, driven and pragmatic, is learning to hold grief and responsibility in the same hands. Together, they build something that looks a lot like a family. The love story, when it finally finds its footing, earns it.

📺 Episode Guide

Spoiler-light recaps — enough to remember where you left off, nothing that ruins the ride.

Our Universe Episode 1 — The Worst First Impression
EP 01
The Worst First Impression
February 4, 2026
Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin meet over a secondhand lamp — and immediately despise each other. The episode does the smart thing: it establishes who these two people are before the tragedy that will bind them. Bae In-hyuk’s Tae-hyung lands quickly — broke, proud, quietly tender beneath the prickle. The accident that ends the episode is not played for shock. It doesn’t need to be.

Our Universe Episode 2 — Universe, Meet Your Guardians
EP 02
Universe, Meet Your Guardians
February 5, 2026
Woo-ju arrives in their lives — and the show finds its voice immediately. The comedy of two completely unprepared adults trying to figure out a twenty-month-old is genuinely funny, and Park Yu-ho commits to every single moment of it. Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin’s cohabitation agreement is forged less out of warmth than mutual desperation. The episode ends with the quietest, most affecting scene of the premiere week.

Our Universe Episode 3 — The Routine Begins
EP 03
The Routine Begins
February 11, 2026
Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin settle into something that resembles a rhythm — divided responsibilities, careful distance, growing competence. Bae In-hyuk’s rapport with Woo-ju is the surprise of these early episodes: the chemistry is completely real and the show knows to let it breathe. The introduction of Park Yoon-seong at episode’s end shifts the energy in a direction that will frustrate more viewers than it satisfies.

Our Universe Episode 4 — Old Feelings, New Problems
EP 04
Old Feelings, New Problems
February 12, 2026
Hyun-jin’s past with Yoon-seong surfaces at the office — and the drama briefly forgets what made its first two episodes work. Tae-hyung at home with Woo-ju remains the beating heart of the show; Tae-hyung waiting for Hyun-jin who never arrives is the moment Bae In-hyuk sells with complete economy. The gap between the two storylines in quality is already visible here.

Our Universe Episode 5 — Two Confessions, One Man Waiting
EP 05
Two Confessions, One Man Waiting
February 18, 2026
Hyun-jin receives two confessions this week, from men who couldn’t be more different in how they love. Tae-hyung’s is unspoken but completely legible in every scene. Yoon-seong’s is loud, present, and lands like an interruption to the actual story. Bae In-hyuk’s quieter half of this episode is the one that stays with you.

Our Universe Episode 6 — The Triangle Tightens
EP 06
The Triangle Tightens
February 19, 2026
The love triangle reaches peak frustration here — Hyun-jin caught between a man who’s been waiting seven years and a man raising her nephew while quietly falling apart. The episode’s saving grace is Woo-ju’s birthday, handled with a warmth that reminds you what the show could have been if it had trusted its original premise more fully. Stick with it.

Our Universe Episode 7 — What Tae-hyung Carries
EP 07
What Tae-hyung Carries
February 25, 2026
The episode the show needed six episodes ago. Tae-hyung’s backstory — the orphanage, the brother who left, the years of making peace with it — lands with real weight. Bae In-hyuk does not overplay it. The scene where Tae-hyung explains it to Hyun-jin while Woo-ju sleeps between them is the best two minutes of the entire run.

Our Universe Episode 8 — What a Family Looks Like
EP 08
What a Family Looks Like
February 26, 2026
Tae-hyung questions whether he has any legitimate claim to Woo-ju — and the episode sits with that grief honestly. Hyun-jin is in crisis of her own making; the show is at its most honest when it acknowledges that she’s been the weaker co-parent without turning her into a villain for it. The neighbourhood community earns its place in the story here for the first time.

Our Universe Episode 9 — The Choice She Has to Make
EP 09
The Choice She Has to Make
March 4, 2026
Hyun-jin finally chooses — and the show does not let her off easy for how long it took. Tae-hyung’s reaction is the kind of restrained, dignified pain that Bae In-hyuk has been building toward since episode one. The love triangle effectively ends here. Two episodes too late, but it ends.

Our Universe Episode 10 — Something Like Love
EP 10
Something Like Love
March 5, 2026
With the triangle resolved, the drama remembers what it was built on. Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin begin finding their way toward each other — tentative, earned, occasionally funny. The episode is lighter than anything in the middle third of the run, and it’s all the better for it. Woo-ju steals every scene he’s in, as he has been doing since episode one.

Our Universe Episode 11 — Every Parent's Nightmare
EP 11
Every Parent’s Nightmare
March 11, 2026
Woo-ju goes missing in a crowded mall — and then child protective services get involved. The drama introduces its final conflict late and gives it less room than it deserves. What saves the episode is that the terror of possibly losing Woo-ju reframes everything: all the messy middle episodes, all Tae-hyung’s quiet suffering, suddenly makes sense as a portrait of how much he came to love a child he was given no preparation for.

Our Universe Episode 12 — I'll Give You the Universe
EP 12
I’ll Give You the Universe
March 12, 2026
The guardianship hearing resolves — and the show closes where it should have spent more time: the three of them, together, figuring out how to be a family. The finale is warm without being saccharine. Woo-ju’s goodbye to the camera, addressed to anyone watching, is the moment the internet replayed sixty million times. The show earns its ending. It earns Woo-ju’s name.

🎞️ Warm, Cozy Aesthetic

Bae In-hyuk has been the most interesting mid-tier lead working in K-drama for the past two years — reliably good in material that doesn’t always deserve him. Our Universe is his best showcase to date, and the reason is surprisingly simple: the show gives him a twenty-month-old to act against. His dynamic with Park Yu-ho’s Woo-ju is entirely real — the chemistry unforced, the affection visible in micro-expressions that no director choreographs. Tae-hyung’s arc, a man who was abandoned by family learning to become one, would land on its own. With Woo-ju, it becomes something genuinely moving.

Our Universe (2026) — cinematic still

The drama’s central problem — and it is a real one — is the love triangle. From episode three onward, Park Seo-ham’s Yoon-seong consumes screen time that belonged to the co-parenting story the show was actually built around. Defenders will argue this is realistic: of course a first love resurfaces when you’re stressed and sleep-deprived and suddenly living with a man you barely know. The counter-argument, which holds, is that the show was marketed, cast, and tonally built around two people raising a baby together — and trading that for a corporate-office will-she-won’t-she undermines everything that made the first two episodes work. Both readings are fair. The verdict: the love triangle is the wrong choice for this specific drama, even if it’s not badly executed on its own terms.

Our Universe is a show at war with itself — its best instincts versus a structural decision that works against them. What survives that war is considerable: Bae In-hyuk’s finest performance, a child actor who deserves every one of his sixty million views, a finale that sticks the landing even when the middle hasn’t earned it, and a closing scene that will wreck you if you let it. The flawed middle is worth the beautiful ends. Come for the baby. Stay for the uncle.
