Seo-jin (Shin Min-a) is a photographer whose eyesight is slipping away because of a hereditary disease. Her twin sister Seo-in, who lived with the same condition and built a career as a ceramic artist anyway, is found dead, and the police close the case as a suicide. Seo-jin refuses to accept that and starts digging. The more she learns, the less she can see, and an unseen presence begins to close in on her. Shin Min-a plays both sisters, and director Yeom Ji-ho builds the film around a simple fear: being watched while you are the one who cannot look back. It is a Korean remake of the 2010 Spanish thriller Julia’s Eyes, and early reviews say the filmmakers changed the ending and some of the characters from the original.

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take

Our real opinion — worth the watch, and for who exactly.

🎬 Director Yeom Ji-ho Known for: Yeom Ji-ho directs The Eyes from a screenplay by Kim Ho-won. At the press event he said he cast Kim Nam-hee after seeing his scene-stealing, hard-to-like performance in Mr. Sunshine.
👁️ Fading Sight👭 Twin Sisters🔦 Unseen Watcher🎬 Spanish Remake

Playing twins means Shin Min-a has to make two people feel different with very little help from the script, and reviewers keep returning to how she does it with her eyes and small facial changes. The setup, a woman who cannot be sure what she is seeing, will appeal to viewers who liked the paranoia in Hidden Face, where the threat sits just outside the frame.

The Eyes (2026) — cinematic still

The film’s reception is split. A Fantasia festival review calls the first hour engaging before the last act turns contrived, while a Korean critic says the conclusion feels hasty next to the questions the film raised. Another reviewer argues the changes from Julia’s Eyes make the plot easier to follow. If a heroine losing her sight is the hook for you, Blind works through a related fear in a longer, crime-driven form.

We are holding back a verdict for now. The film’s final act and ending are still being confirmed across Korean coverage, and we only publish the story and ending sections once they hold up across several reliable sources. For now, treat this page as the setup, the cast and the case for watching.

What to know first
•Several reviewers describe the final act as rushed or contrived
•It is a remake of the 2010 Spanish film Julia’s Eyes
•There is no post-credits scene, per Korean coverage
