Romance

Jin I Su (Ahn Bo Hyun) has never had to work a day in his life — and it shows. A third-generation chaebol heir with more money than sense, he finds himself forcibly enrolled in the violent crimes unit of Gangha Police Station after one too many run-ins with the law. His idea of detective work involves a private jet, a black card, and people who owe him favors. The unit’s idea of detective work involves not having any of those things.

Standing between I Su and complete chaos is Lee Gang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun), the team’s no-nonsense leader who has clawed her way up through sheer competence and refuses to let one entitled chaebol undo all of it. What starts as a clash of worlds slowly becomes something more complicated — a partnership neither of them planned, built on cases that push them further than rules alone ever could.

📺 Episode Guide

Spoiler-light recaps — enough to remember where you left off, nothing that ruins the ride.

Flex x Cop Episode 1 — Rich Cop, Wrong Precinct
EP 01
Rich Cop, Wrong Precinct
January 26, 2024 · SBS
Jin I Su arrives at Gangha Police Station like he’s checking into a boutique hotel and is confused when nobody offers to take his luggage. Team leader Lee Gang Hyun is not amused. The setup is quick and effective — two people with wildly incompatible worldviews, locked into the same building, same unit, same cases. Ahn Bo Hyun commits fully to the absurdity from minute one, and it works.

Flex x Cop Episode 2 — First Case
EP 02
First Case
January 26, 2024 · SBS
I Su’s first real case becomes a masterclass in unconventional policing — if “unconventional” means deploying a helicopter to tail a suspect. Gang Hyun spends most of the episode trying to contain the damage while quietly noticing it actually produces results. The dynamic is starting to take shape: she provides the expertise, he provides the absurd budget.

Flex x Cop Episode 3 — Old Money, New Clues
EP 03
Old Money, New Clues
February 2, 2024 · SBS
A robbery with unusually polished execution pulls the team into the world of Gangnam’s wealthy — I Su’s natural habitat. He reads the room in ways Gang Hyun never could, and the episode gives him his first genuine win that isn’t just a transaction. Park Ji Hyun’s restraint here is doing a lot of heavy lifting — she lets the skepticism soften just enough to be interesting.

Flex x Cop Episode 4 — Peeling the Layers
EP 04
Peeling the Layers
February 2, 2024 · SBS
The robbery investigation goes deeper and the deception turns out to be insider work. I Su’s connections open doors the badge alone never would. More importantly, this is the episode where Gang Hyun stops treating him like a liability and starts treating him like a strange, expensive asset. The dynamic clicks into a proper rhythm here.

Flex x Cop Episode 5 — The Funeral No One Attended
EP 05
The Funeral No One Attended
February 9, 2024 · SBS
A victim with no family, no mourners, and apparently no one who cared enough to show up — and I Su quietly arranges a proper send-off out of pocket. This is the episode that earns him the team’s respect, including Gang Hyun’s. It’s not played for a big moment; that restraint makes it land harder. The show reveals more of its heart than its premise promised.

Flex x Cop Episode 6 — The Art of the Scam
EP 06
The Art of the Scam
February 9, 2024 · SBS
A wronged artist seeks justice in the entertainment industry, and I Su goes full Trojan horse — embedding himself in elite circles to expose the people behind the exploitation. The episode leans hard on the comedy while sneaking in a real point about what money enables. Gang Hyun watching him work with something approaching admiration is a good look on Park Ji Hyun.

Flex x Cop Episode 7 — What She Carried
EP 07
What She Carried
February 16, 2024 · SBS
The show shifts gears and goes darker — the case this week touches institutions, and Gang Hyun’s past comes into frame for the first time. Park Ji Hyun gets room to show what’s underneath the authority, and it recontextualizes everything she’s been doing since episode one. I Su, for once, doesn’t have a chequebook solution. He just stays.

Flex x Cop Episode 8 — Money vs. Justice
EP 08
Money vs. Justice
February 16, 2024 · SBS
A suspect buys their way out of reach — legally, carefully, expensively. I Su counters with his own elite playbook, and the episode becomes a genuine war of wealth. The show earns its premise here: not by saying money is good, but by asking what happens when the only way to fight it is to have more of it. Gang Hyun is visibly uncomfortable with the answer.

Flex x Cop Episode 9 — The Bigger Picture
EP 09
The Bigger Picture
February 23, 2024 · SBS
Mid-series pivot: the standalone cases were all connected, and now the threads are starting to pull toward something larger. The partnership between Gang Hyun and I Su reaches genuine mutual trust for the first time — they stop explaining themselves to each other and start moving in sync. A personal threat against the team raises the stakes beyond the procedural.

Flex x Cop Episode 10 — Protect the Team
EP 10
Protect the Team
February 23, 2024 · SBS
The criminal network retaliates, and for the first time the violence is directed inward — at the unit itself. I Su’s response is fast, decisive, and entirely outside any police manual. Gang Hyun finally stops calculating whether to trust him. The episode ends on a cliffhanger that confirms the show is committed to its bigger arc, for better or worse.

Flex x Cop Episode 11 — Family Business
EP 11
Family Business
March 1, 2024 · SBS
The investigation pulls I Su’s own family into the picture, and suddenly his chaebol background is a liability rather than an asset. Ahn Bo Hyun handles the weight of it well — I Su has been performing competence for ten episodes, and this is where the performance starts to cost him something. Gang Hyun holds the unit together while he processes what he’s found.

Flex x Cop Episode 12 — Evidence Tampered
EP 12
Evidence Tampered
March 1, 2024 · SBS
The key evidence disappears — and someone on the inside is the reason. The episode juggles investigation and relationship at the same time: I Su and Gang Hyun are navigating feelings while also navigating betrayal, and neither is going well. A revelation about a recurring character reframes something from much earlier. The show is operating at full tilt now.

Flex x Cop Episode 13 — The Plan
EP 13
The Plan
March 8, 2024 · SBS
The villain is confirmed, the plan is locked, and everyone finally knows what they’re fighting. Gang Hyun leads the operation architecture — this is her episode to demonstrate why she earned that title, and Park Ji Hyun steps into it fully. I Su provides the war chest. Together the team moves like something that actually works, which after thirteen episodes, feels genuinely earned.

Flex x Cop Episode 14 — The Escape
EP 14
The Escape
March 8, 2024 · SBS
The antagonist tries to run using the same elite infrastructure that made them untouchable. I Su knows every exit route because he’s used them himself. The episode delivers the show’s best action sequence and its most genuinely dangerous stakes — near-misses that land because the show has spent fourteen episodes making you care about who survives them.

Flex x Cop Episode 15 — The Last Piece
EP 15
The Last Piece
March 15, 2024 · SBS
Final evidence secured, final reckoning incoming — and Gang Hyun’s personal backstory, hinted at since episode seven, comes fully into the light. It reframes her character in ways that make the whole series land differently on reflection. I Su is beside her for it, not as a partner who fixes things, but as one who stays regardless. Quiet and significant.

Flex x Cop Episode 16 — Staying
EP 16
Staying
March 17, 2024 · SBS
The criminal network is dismantled, the villain is arrested, and Jin I Su makes his definitive choice — staying at the precinct rather than returning to his gilded life. It’s the moment the show has been earning since episode one, and Ahn Bo Hyun plays it without overstatement. Gang Hyun lets her guard down completely for the first time, and the team heads out on a new case together. Warm, earned, right.

🏁 Ending Explained

Full spoilers ahead — everything that happens in the finale and what it all means.

⚠️
Spoiler Warning — This section covers the full finale of Flex x Cop. Stop here if you haven’t finished the series.

The criminal network falls — and the takedown is a team effort. The finale opens with the net already closing. The weeks of evidence collection, the near-misses in episode 14, the personal reckoning in episode 15 — it all converges in a coordinated operation that Gang Hyun has architected down to the exit routes. There’s no single heroic moment; the show gives the win to the unit collectively, which is the right call. What separates Flex x Cop from a straightforward procedural is that you believe in these people as a group by the time the final case closes.

Flex x Cop (2024) Episode 14 — The Escape

Jin I Su makes the choice the entire drama has been building toward. Offered a clean exit back to his old life — his inheritance intact, his obligations discharged — he declines. Not dramatically, not as a speech. He just doesn’t leave. Ahn Bo Hyun plays this with complete economy; there’s no monologue about who he’s become. The decision is visible in what he doesn’t say. After sixteen episodes of a character who solved problems by throwing money at them, the most meaningful thing he does in the finale is simply choose to stay.

Lee Gang Hyun faces — and releases — the personal trauma that has driven her since episode seven. What the show hinted at across the season is fully surfaced here: a case from her past that shaped her obsessive approach to the job, her refusal to trust anyone, her insistence on carrying everything alone. Confronting it doesn’t fix her, but it lets her stop running from it. Park Ji Hyun earns the emotional payoff completely — it’s the kind of restrained, specific performance that makes the resolution feel real rather than convenient.

Flex x Cop (2024) Episode 1 — Rich Cop, Wrong Precinct

The team reassembles, and that’s the real ending. Park Jun Yeong, Choi Gyeong Jin, and the rest of the unit get their closure — not through big standalone moments but through the shared rhythm of the group heading out together one more time. The closing image mirrors the first episode almost exactly: the same precinct, the same people, the same energy — except now the dynamic has completely shifted. Flex x Cop ends exactly as it should: not with a bang, but with a team that chose each other, heading out to work.

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take

Our honest read on why this drama is worth your time — and who it’s for.

💰 Chaebol Energy🚔 Found Family💗 Slow Burn Romance😂 Genuinely Funny✨ Warm Finish

Flex x Cop is more interested in its characters than its premise — which is the main reason it works. The chaebol-becomes-a-cop setup is inherently ridiculous, and the show knows it, but it never lets the gag run longer than the character work underneath. Ahn Bo Hyun commits to Jin I Su completely: not as a walking punchline but as a person who has never had to develop a personality because his bank account did it for him, and who gradually finds out what’s left when the money isn’t the point. It’s the kind of performance that could easily become annoying and instead becomes genuinely endearing. Park Ji Hyun matches him at every turn — Lee Gang Hyun is all closed doors and professional armor, and the slow opening of those doors is what the romance is actually built on. In terms of pure lead chemistry, this holds up against the best the genre has to offer. For another drama where money and personality collide in a workplace setting, Vincenzo scratches a similar itch, though with considerably darker energy.

Flex x Cop (2024) — cinematic still

The structure is a procedural at heart — case of the week with an overarching conspiracy threading through the second half — and the standalone cases are where the show is most confident. The best episodes (five, seven, thirteen) work because the case is specific enough to generate real stakes while leaving room for character. The overarching criminal conspiracy is less interesting than the individual stories it contains, and episodes eleven through thirteen can feel like connective tissue. Sixteen episodes at seventy minutes each is a genuine commitment, and the middle stretch tests patience. But the show earns its runtime by the end — the finale pays off everything that was set up slowly and honestly. If you’ve spent time with Bad Prosecutor, the DNA is similar: charismatic lead, procedural backbone, warmth that sneaks up on you.

What lingers about Flex x Cop is the found family. The violent crimes unit — Park Jun Yeong and Choi Gyeong Jin in particular — evolve from background presence into genuine emotional anchors, and the finale knows to give the win to the team rather than just the couple. The romance works because it develops alongside a friendship, and the show understands that I Su choosing to stay at the precinct is a bigger statement than any confession scene could be. It’s not a perfect drama, but it’s a warm one — and in a genre that can run cold, that counts for a lot.

👍👍👍 BEST FOR 👍👍👍
💰 Fans of chaebol-meets-real-world comedies with genuine heart
🚔 Viewers who want action procedural with a warm found-family core
💗 Slow burn romance fans who are willing to wait for a well-earned payoff

⚖️ Final Verdict
What works
Ahn Bo Hyun’s comedic and emotional range — fully committed throughout
Park Ji Hyun as Gang Hyun — authority and vulnerability in precise balance
Found family dynamic built naturally across sixteen episodes
Standalone case episodes (especially eps 5, 7, 13) are genuinely great

What to know first
Romance develops slowly — explicit payoff arrives very late
The overarching conspiracy is less compelling than the individual cases
16 eps × 70 min is a substantial commitment — the middle drags slightly
Supporting cast characters get uneven screen time in the back half

8.1 / 10Warm, funny, and more emotionally honest than the premise suggests — a reliable comfort watch with two leads who make the hours disappear.
