Revenge

An Yun Su is a high school art teacher leading an ordinary life — until her husband, artist Lee Ki Dae, is found murdered in his private studio. The evidence is damning, the tampering meticulous, and Yun Su finds herself behind bars before she can even process what happened. Then she meets Mo Eun. Known inside the prison walls as “the Witch,” Mo Eun is an inmate with unsettling calm and a terrifying proposition: she will confess to Ki Dae’s murder and clear Yun Su’s name — in exchange for Yun Su committing a murder of her own.

What unfolds is a psychological game of mutual dependence, shifting trust, and dangerous calculation — played out across two parallel investigations led by prosecutor Baek Dong Hun and defense attorney Jang Jeong Gu, two men who approach the same case from opposite ends of the moral spectrum and slowly realize neither is seeing the full picture. The Price of Confession drops all 12 episodes at once, and the binge structure is earned: every episode ends with a question the next one refuses to answer cleanly.

The Price of Confession Episode 1
EP 01
The Body in the Studio
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Artist Lee Ki Dae is found dead in his private studio — no forced entry, evidence deliberately tampered to point at one person. His wife, art teacher An Yun Su, is pulled in for questioning as a media circus ignites around her. Prosecutor Baek Dong Hun, a behavioral analyst known for his gut instincts, takes a hard look at a woman who protests her innocence with a conviction that doesn’t quite fit the pattern.

The Price of Confession Episode 2
EP 02
The Woman Who Confessed
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Baek drags Yun Su back to the crime scene to reconstruct events under pressure. Simultaneously, in a courtroom elsewhere, a woman named Mo Eun quietly pleads guilty to a completely unrelated crime — an admission so controlled it doesn’t read like remorse at all. Two stories converge when it becomes clear that Mo Eun’s arrival in Yun Su’s facility was anything but accidental.

The Price of Confession Episode 3
EP 03
The Witch’s Offer
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Mo Eun and Yun Su share their first real encounter inside the facility — a tense meeting where every word is calculated and nothing is offered freely. Outside, public pressure forces Baek’s hand and he secures a polygraph session designed to break Yun Su’s resolve. The episode ends with Yun Su realizing that Mo Eun already knows things about Ki Dae’s case that she shouldn’t.

The Price of Confession Episode 4
EP 04
Terms of the Deal
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Mo Eun makes the exchange explicit: a confession for a murder. Released on bail with an ankle monitor and a curfew she can barely breathe around, Yun Su begins to see the shape of what’s being asked of her. Mo Eun sends a threatening message to Yun Su’s newly appointed attorney Jin Yeong In — a signal that the pact now extends beyond the two women into the world outside the prison walls.

The Price of Confession Episode 5
EP 05
The Target
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Yun Su tracks a hooded figure she suspects is connected to Mo Eun’s operation — and finds herself sliding deeper into a situation she can no longer step back from. Inside the facility, Mo Eun is reported missing and Baek begins to suspect the two women are coordinating in ways that are deliberately staying just outside the reach of his surveillance. The question stops being whether Mo Eun is dangerous — and starts being why she chose Yun Su.

The Price of Confession Episode 6
EP 06
Hidden in Plain Sight
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Yun Su digs into Ko Se Hun’s past and comes across something in Ki Dae’s studio she wasn’t supposed to find. A violent confrontation erupts inside the prison as tensions among the inmates reach a breaking point, and Mo Eun — still unsupervised and unaccounted for — raises serious alarms among facility staff. The episode makes clear that Mo Eun operates on a timeline no one else can see.

The Price of Confession Episode 7
EP 07
Disappearing Acts
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Both women race to erase evidence that could shift the case against them — a parallel sequence that reveals just how much of the investigation each has been quietly managing. Then Ko Se Hun vanishes, and his grandfather Ko Dong Uk reports him missing. The disappearance adds a new layer of urgency that forces Baek’s investigation to pivot before he’s ready.

The Price of Confession Episode 8
EP 08
New Evidence
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Mo Eun hands Yun Su a piece of evidence that directly complicates her legal standing — a move that reads as either protection or sabotage, and the ambiguity is the point. Baek uncovers Se Hun’s dark secret. A new inmate arrives in the cell and immediately disrupts the dynamic both women have carefully constructed, forcing each to reassess what the other actually knows.

The Price of Confession Episode 9
EP 09
Medical Emergency
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
Mo Eun is rushed out of the facility following a medical emergency that raises immediate suspicion among both guards and investigators — planned, or real? Attorney Jang Jeong Gu receives a phone call that reshapes how he intends to defend Yun Su. Meanwhile, an escape attempt by another inmate puts several people at risk and briefly rearranges the prison’s power dynamics in ways Mo Eun will almost certainly use.

The Price of Confession Episode 10
EP 10
The Confession Goes Public
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
A three-way confrontation between Jeong Gu, Baek, and Mo Eun finally forces information into the open that has been withheld from all three of them. Then a murder confession hits the public — broadcast in a way that sends shockwaves through the investigation and upends every working theory anyone had. The show’s most tightly wound episode. Do not skip the final scene.

The Price of Confession Episode 11
EP 11
The Fingerprint
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
A fingerprint hidden inside Lee Ki Dae’s murder case points investigators toward a source nobody expected. As news of a kidnapping breaks, Mo Eun begins to orchestrate something she has clearly been building toward for a long time. The endgame is visible now — and what it requires of Yun Su is something the drama has been quietly preparing her for since Episode 3.

The Price of Confession Episode 12 — Finale
EP 12
The Price
Dec 5, 2025 · Netflix
The two murder cases reach their resolution simultaneously, and Baek and Jeong Gu receive a video that recontextualizes everything they thought they understood about Mo Eun. At Ki Dae’s studio, Yun Su and So Hae confront Jin Yeong In with the fingerprint evidence that connects him and his wife to the murder — a killing rooted in a plagiarism dispute that escalated beyond anyone’s control. What follows is brutal, inevitable, and bittersweet. The series closes on Yun Su and her daughter traveling to Thailand — a tribute to the woman who saved her and couldn’t save herself.

🏁 Ending Explained

Full spoilers ahead — everything that happens in the finale and what it all means.

Spoiler Warning — This section covers the full finale of The Price of Confession. Stop here if you haven’t finished the series.

The plagiarism murder. The finale’s central reveal ties Ki Dae’s murder not to jealousy or passion but to something that sounds almost mundane until you trace its consequences: a plagiarism dispute. Jin Yeong In — Yun Su’s own attorney — and his wife Choi Su Yeon killed Ki Dae because he had evidence of Su Yeon stealing his work. The killing was premeditated, carefully constructed to frame the wife, and would have succeeded without a fingerprint left in the studio that the killer had no way of knowing So Hae would eventually find. Yun Su goes to the studio with So Hae and confronts Jin Yeong In directly with the evidence — and Jin, cornered, decides that eliminating both women is the only exit.

The Price of Confession (2025) Episode 11 — The Fingerprint

So Hae’s final act. Jin Yeong In underestimates So Hae. In the struggle that follows his attempt to silence both women, So Hae fatally wounds Jin — but sustains injuries she does not survive. Her death is not framed as tragedy in the conventional sense. It is the completion of something she set in motion long before she met Yun Su. So Hae came to prison with a purpose: to destroy Ko Se Hun, the man whose sexual assault drove her sister and father to suicide, and to see that purpose through even if it cost her everything. She chose the name Mo Eun from a deceased friend, assumed a dead woman’s identity, and built an entire architecture of manipulation around a plan that was always going to end this way.

Who So Hae really was. The revelation of So Hae’s identity as Kang So Hae — a doctor, not a career criminal — reframes every scene she was in. The stillness that read as menace was the stillness of someone who had already decided. Her deal with Yun Su was never about mutual destruction; it was about finding a woman wrongly accused who had enough reason to act, and leveraging that alignment toward her own endgame. The “Witch” label the prison gave her was a misread. She wasn’t dangerous because she was cruel. She was dangerous because she was right — and she’d already made her peace with what being right would cost.

The Price of Confession (2025) Episode 6 — Hidden in Plain Sight

Yun Su’s exoneration and what remains unresolved. Yun Su is cleared of all murder charges. The evidence against Jin Yeong In and Choi Su Yeon collapses the case that was built against her. Choi Su Yeon, with her husband dead, attempts to pin sole responsibility on him — and Baek, unwilling to let that stand, continues pressing. It is a deliberately incomplete victory: Yun Su is free, but the system that imprisoned her is still largely intact, and the woman who believed in her enough to die for her resolution is gone. The drama does not pretend that the machinery works. It only shows one woman escaping it.

The final image. The series ends not with a courtroom or a verdict but with a journey. Yun Su and her daughter fly to Thailand — to a mountain that So Hae once described as her cherished place, a destination she will never reach herself. It is the only tribute Yun Su can offer: to go there, to see what So Hae saw, to stand in a place that mattered to a woman most people only ever knew as a threat. The Price of Confession earns its title in the last ten minutes — the confession was never really about the murder, and the price was never really Yun Su’s to pay.

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take

Our honest read on why this drama is worth your time — and who it’s for.

🕯️ Psychological Tension🎭 Powerhouse Performances🧩 Layered Mystery⚖️ Moral Ambiguity🖤 Bittersweet

The reason this drama works — and it does work — is that neither woman is the story. The pact is the story. Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Go-eun are two of the best performers in Korean cinema, and putting them in a room together with a mutual dependence neither can fully trust produces a kind of sustained electricity that most thrillers spend their entire runtime chasing without ever quite arriving. Yun Su is reactive, desperate, trying to survive a situation she didn’t choose. So Hae is utterly deliberate, operating on a timeline invisible to everyone around her. The push and pull between those two modes is what makes every scene in the prison feel like a negotiation where the stakes shift with every line.

The Price of Confession (2025) — cinematic still

Park Hae-soo and Jin Sun-kyu as the two investigators are a complementary pair rather than a competitive one — their opposition is legal and methodological, not personal, and that restraint makes the scenes where they finally share information feel earned rather than forced. The drama trusts its structure more than most Netflix originals do. Twelve episodes dropped simultaneously could have been an invitation to pace badly and pad generously. Instead, it’s tight — there are no episodes that exist to buy time, and the reveal about So Hae’s identity in the final stretch is set up so carefully across the series that a rewatch will feel like a completely different drama. This is the kind of tightly engineered thriller that rewards the audience for paying attention rather than punishing them for missing a beat.

The ending is bittersweet in the specific way that feels earned rather than convenient. So Hae’s death is not a tragedy the drama asks you to mourn in isolation — it’s the culmination of a choice she made before the first episode ever started. The show doesn’t frame it as a failure or a loss so much as a cost she had already accepted. If you came for a clean resolution where the bad guys go to prison and the good guys live well, this is not quite that. But if you came for a drama that knows what it’s doing and commits to the full weight of its premise, few 2025 Netflix originals come close. Watch it in one sitting if you can — the architecture only fully reveals itself when the pieces are still fresh.

⚖️ Final Verdict
What works
Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Go-eun’s charged, career-level chemistry
A tight 12-episode structure with no wasted episodes
So Hae’s true identity — a reveal that retroactively reshapes the whole series
Morally complex from every angle — no simple heroes or villains

What to know first
The plagiarism motive may feel small-scale for the thriller’s ambition
Heavy subject matter — sexual assault and suicide are core backstory
Bittersweet ending — not designed to leave you feeling resolved
Several supporting characters feel underdeveloped beyond their function

8.6 / 10Two of the best actresses in Korean film in the same space, locked in a pact neither can escape — it’s as good as that sounds.
