Hong Ji-ah (Jang Na-ra) has the least glamorous ghost-hunting operation in K-drama: she buys buildings the market has written off because someone died badly inside them, evicts whatever stayed behind, and resells at a profit. The gift — and the anger that comes bundled with it — she inherited from her mother, an exorcist who died on a job twenty years ago in a way the official record pinned on a child.

Into that walks Oh In-bum (Jung Yong-hwa), a con man who fakes exorcisms for cash until he realizes his fraud has a real signal underneath it. Their partnership powers a case-of-the-week structure — one spirit per building, one regret per spirit — while a slower thread pulls both of them back toward the same twenty-year-old night. It is a horror-comedy far more interested in the grief than the scares, and better for it.

📺 Episode Guide

Just enough to stay oriented, episode by episode.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 1 — The Realtor Who Sees Ghosts EP 01
The Realtor Who Sees Ghosts
Apr 14, 2021
Hong Ji-ah runs Daebak Realty on a model no rival would touch: she buys buildings the market has abandoned because someone died badly inside, clears whatever stayed behind, and flips them. The premiere lays the hook out plainly — a haunted officetel, a death the living want forgotten, a heroine who files the supernatural under overhead. Con man Oh In-bum crashing her ritual sets up the partnership the show spends sixteen weeks earning.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 2 — Father and Son EP 02
Father and Son
Apr 15, 2021
A haunted art museum case establishes the show’s real method: the ghost is never the point, the unfinished business is. Ji-ah reads a spirit the way an inspector reads water damage, tracing it back to the moment a life went wrong. In-bum, still working an angle, starts to notice that her nonsense keeps producing results his tricks never could — and that the reveal at the end of each case tends to hurt.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 3 — Team Daebak EP 03
Team Daebak
Apr 21, 2021
In-bum formally joins Daebak Realty, and the show settles into the odd-couple rhythm it runs on: her precision, his patter, hacker Chief Heo feeding them both intel. An artist’s haunting gives the episode its case, but the load-bearing scene is the two of them arguing over whether what he can do counts as a gift or a symptom. The answer will take the season.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 4 — Side Effects EP 04
Side Effects
Apr 22, 2021
The mechanics of In-bum’s ability get their first real cost. Touching a spirit means taking a piece of its death into his own body, and the episode lets us watch what that does to a person who spent years pretending. A case resolves cleanly enough, but the closing beat is Ji-ah realizing her new partner is not a fraud so much as a man who has been running from the same thing she is.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 5 — Mother and Daughter EP 05
Mother and Daughter
Apr 28, 2021
A haunting rooted in a mother’s death lands close to home, and the show uses the week’s client to pry at Ji-ah’s own twenty-year-old wound. The case is one of the series’ most affecting — a small grief handled with real care — and it works partly because Ji-ah is visibly bad at watching someone else go through what she never finished. Her mother’s memory stops being backstory here and becomes the plot.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 6 — The Faceless Boy EP 06
The Faceless Boy
Apr 29, 2021
A child’s spirit walled up in a basement pushes the show toward genuine horror before pulling back to grief, which is its usual move. The reveal — what was done to the boy, and by whom — is bleak, and the episode trusts the audience to sit with it. It also drops the first hard hint that the cases are not as random as they look, and that something older is steering Ji-ah toward specific buildings.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 7 — A Sweet Tooth EP 07
A Sweet Tooth
May 5, 2021
A gentler case — a spirit hanging around for something as small as a favourite snack — gives the show room to be funny again before the back half turns grim. The comedy and the melancholy sit in the same scene without fighting, which is the tonal trick the series does best. Between cases, In-bum keeps circling questions about his own family that nobody wants to answer.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 8 — The Child in the Wall EP 08
The Child in the Wall
May 6, 2021
The Eun-byeol case ties a weekly haunting directly into the larger mystery, and the seams between procedural and serial start to dissolve. In-bum learns things about his late uncle, Oh Seong-sik, that reframe his whole childhood — including the grandmother who raised him on the idea that he was to blame for three deaths. The show is done pretending the two threads were ever separate.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 9 — Murder in the Parking Lot EP 09
Murder in the Parking Lot
May 12, 2021
A present-day killing brings the police into the frame and forces Daebak Realty to work a case with a living perpetrator instead of a dead one. The shift gives the season stakes it can’t exorcise away. It also puts Ji-ah and In-bum on the radar of people who don’t believe in ghosts and don’t need to in order to be dangerous.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 10 — Luring a Murderer EP 10
Luring a Murderer
May 13, 2021
The team sets a trap for the killer, and the episode leans into the caper energy the show has mostly kept in reserve. A spirit’s testimony can’t be entered into evidence, so the win has to be engineered around that limitation — a nice constraint the writers use well. The victory is real but small, and the season makes clear the bigger name is still untouched.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 11 — Ji-ah Forfeits Daebak EP 11
Ji-ah Forfeits Daebak
May 19, 2021
Ji-ah gives up the company to chase the one case that matters, and the show trades its weekly structure for a single target: construction chairman Do Hak-seong. The pivot costs the series some of its momentum — Do Hak-seong is a thinner figure than the hauntings were — but it clarifies the stakes. This was always going to end with Ji-ah and the man connected to her mother’s death in the same room.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 12 — The Egg Ghost EP 12
The Egg Ghost
May 20, 2021
The series’ highest-rated hour finally says it out loud: twenty years ago Hong Mi-jin was called to exorcise an ‘egg ghost,’ a spirit that can only be removed by killing its host, and the host was a child. She planned to do it and turn herself in; instead the ritual killed her. In-bum, piecing his uncle’s memories together, closes on the same night from the other side.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 13 — Quitting the Business EP 13
Quitting the Business
May 26, 2021
Ji-ah steps back from exorcism entirely, worn down by what the last case revealed and by how close it sits to her. A quieter episode about a returning son and an aging mother gives the theme a gentler restatement — people come home too late, and the drama keeps forgiving them for it. In-bum, meanwhile, stops waiting for Do Hak-seong to make a mistake.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 14 — The Jackpot EP 14
The Jackpot
Jun 2, 2021
In-bum goes on the offensive against Do Hak-seong, and the show remembers it can be a thriller when it wants to. The plan runs on money, leverage, and the chairman’s own greed turned into a handle to pull. It also puts In-bum in real danger for the first time — the season’s way of raising the price on the finale, and of making sure the last confrontation costs one of the leads something too.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 15 — The Egg Ghost Returns EP 15
The Egg Ghost Returns
Jun 3, 2021
The spirit that killed Ji-ah’s mother is loose again, larger and hungrier, and Do Hak-seong turns from target to hunter. The penultimate hour is the series at its most straightforwardly scary, with Ji-ah forced to confront the exact scenario that broke her family. Everything is now pointed at one ritual she does not want to perform.

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 16 — A Glorious Injury EP 16
A Glorious Injury
Jun 9, 2021
Do Hak-seong dies small — cornered, clutching cash, falling — and his spirit forces one last exorcism through In-bum’s body. Ji-ah and In-bum seal the egg ghost together, and the cost is her sight: she loses the ability to see ghosts in the same act that frees her mother. The finale spends its final minutes on the goodbye the whole show was built toward, and it earns it.

🏁 Ending Explained

Everything the finale means, spoilers and all.

⚠️ Spoiler Warning — This section covers the full finale of Sell Your Haunted House. Stop here if you haven’t finished the series.

What actually happened twenty years ago The secret at the center of the series is that Hong Mi-jin died trying to exorcise an ‘egg ghost’ — a spirit that can only be removed by killing its host — and the host that night was a small boy: Oh In-bum. Mi-jin intended to kill the child and then turn herself in; the ritual took her instead, and young Ji-ah was left holding the blame. In the present, Ji-ah and In-bum finish what she started and seal the egg ghost that Do Hak-seong’s greed helped create.

Sell Your Haunted House (2021) — Hong Ji-ah and Oh In-bum performing the final exorcism

How Do Hak-seong goes out The chairman does not get a grand villain’s death. Cornered and clutching a bag of money, he panics, runs, and falls — a petty exit for a petty man. His unresolved spirit lunges into In-bum’s body, forcing the last exorcism of the series, and In-bum survives it only because Ji-ah is there to pull him back.

The price Ji-ah pays Sealing a spirit that large costs the medium something, and the toll here is Ji-ah’s sight. She loses the ability to see ghosts — the thing that defined her, isolated her, and kept her tied to her mother — in the same act that finally frees Hong Mi-jin. The gift and the grief leave together.

Sell Your Haunted House (2021) — Hong Ji-ah saying goodbye to her mother's spirit

The farewell The show has spent sixteen episodes on spirits stuck by a single unfinished feeling, and its last one is Ji-ah’s own. With In-bum guiding her hand, she writes her mother’s name a final time and lets her go — not because the loss stopped hurting, but because she has reached the point where she can carry it. The leads stay a fierce platonic partnership; the finale keeps them working side by side at Daebak Realty rather than pairing them off.

The KDW read Sell Your Haunted House is a small-scale genre show that knew exactly what it was: a case-a-week comfort watch with a lump in its throat. The revenge plot is its weakest thread and the effects are modest, but the central relationship never needed romance to hold, and the ending trades spectacle for a quiet, well-earned goodbye.

Sell Your Haunted House (2021) — Hong Ji-ah and Oh In-bum back at work at Daebak Realty

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take

Our honest take — is it worth your time, and who’s it really for.

🏚️ Haunted Real Estate 👻 A Regret Per Ghost 🔍 A Twenty-Year Case 😤 Grief With Attitude

The obvious cousin is Hotel Del Luna — another supernatural business run by a sharp-tongued woman stuck on an old wound, sending restless spirits off one unfinished feeling at a time. Sell Your Haunted House swaps the luxury hotel for a realtor’s clipboard and the sweeping romance for something drier, but the engine is identical: every ghost is a person who needs one last thing said.

Sell Your Haunted House (2021) — cinematic still

Oh In-bum’s arc — a fraud who performs shamanism for money and turns out to have the real thing buried under the act — will feel familiar to anyone who watched Café Minamdang. Jung Yong-hwa keeps the con-man swagger just long enough to make the shift land, and the show is smart about not curing his sarcasm once he goes legit.

It sags in the back third. Once the weekly hauntings give way to the Do Hak-seong revenge plot, the pacing loosens and the villain never quite justifies the runtime he gets. But the finale sticks the emotional landing — Ji-ah’s goodbye to her mother is the scene the whole series was building toward — and the cost it charges her for it feels earned rather than cruel.

👍👍👍 BEST FOR 👍👍👍
🏚️ Fans of Hotel Del Luna who want the same idea in a lower key 😌 Anyone after comfort-horror with weekly closure and a soft heart Jang Na-ra fans — one of her strongest late-career leads

⚖️ Final Verdict
What works
Jang Na-ra anchors it with a grieving, thorny lead
The weekly cases reliably land their emotional beats
The mother-daughter farewell pays off the entire run

What to know first
The back third slows once it goes full revenge plot
Do Hak-seong is a thin antagonist
Ghost effects are TV-budget

8.3 / 10— A warm, well-built exorcism procedural that would rather make you cry than make you jump, and mostly earns it.
