Park Joo-hyung left Korea at eight years old, adopted by an Italian family and raised far from everything he was born into. As an adult, he goes by Vincenzo Cassano — mafia consigliere, lawyer, and the late Don Fabio’s right-hand man. When internal power struggles turn lethal, he flees to Seoul with a problem: 1.5 tons of gold bullion hidden in the basement of a building called Geumga Plaza, now illegally claimed by a pharmaceutical giant named Babel Group with plans to demolish it.

What starts as a retrieval operation becomes something else entirely. Geumga Plaza’s eccentric tenants — a chaotic ensemble of small-time operators and unlikely dreamers — turn out to be worth fighting for. Hong Cha-young (Jeon Yeo-been), a sharp-elbowed attorney who initially works for the enemy, switches sides and becomes Vincenzo’s most effective partner. Together, they use every legal trick, mafia tactic, and unhinged improvisation available to them to take down one of the most corrupt corporations in Korea — and every powerful person protecting it.

🎬 Episode Guide

All 20 episodes — spoiler-light recaps with our honest read on each one.

Vincenzo Episode 1
EP 01
The Return
February 20, 2021
Vincenzo Cassano lands in Seoul — not for sentiment, but for 1.5 tons of gold buried under a building someone else now claims. The Geumga Plaza tenants make their first impression: a delightfully chaotic ensemble of small-time operators who will eventually become his most unlikely asset. Song Joong-ki carries the opening on cool restraint — everything about Vincenzo’s affect says “I will handle this my way.”

Vincenzo Episode 2
EP 02
Demo Warning
February 21, 2021
Babel Group has filed for demolition, and the building Vincenzo needs could disappear in weeks. Hong Yoo-chan receives a whistleblower call that begins pulling at the thread. The episode establishes the central tension cleanly: Vincenzo’s self-interest and Jipuragi Law Firm’s idealism are aligned for now, but for very different reasons.

Vincenzo Episode 3
EP 03
Enter Myung-hee
February 27, 2021
Choi Myung-hee steps fully into frame — and Kim Yeo-jin makes her one of the most immediately dangerous presences in the drama. Vincenzo tries to warn Yoo-chan about Babel’s pharmaceutical operations while playing informational chess on two fronts. The tone shift is here: what started as a caper begins to feel like something with real stakes.

Vincenzo Episode 4
EP 04
Fire with Fire
February 28, 2021
Vincenzo starts hitting back using Wusang’s own dirty playbook against them. Yoo-chan’s team unites around a cause that now feels deeply personal. This is the episode most viewers cite as the one that hooked them — the show announces it has no interest in playing fair, and that’s a promise it will keep.

Vincenzo Episode 5
EP 05
Team Vincenzo
March 6, 2021
The break happens: Cha-young quits Wusang and takes over Jipuragi, aligning herself with Vincenzo. Jeon Yeo-been’s performance shifts here — less calculated, more raw and committed. The tenants step up for the first time, and the show begins to feel like the ensemble piece it will fully become.

Vincenzo Episode 6
EP 06
Babel Exposed
March 7, 2021
Both sides flood the courtroom with tricks, and Vincenzo gets his first clear look at what Babel’s CEO actually is. Han Seung-hyuk and Choi Myung-hee are introduced to the man they’ve been working for — and the show confirms the stakes are deeply personal, not merely corporate. The setup is now complete.

Vincenzo Episode 7
EP 07
Surprise Witnesses
March 13, 2021
Joon-woo’s team is thrown off balance when unexpected witnesses surface mid-trial. Cha-young and Vincenzo’s dynamic tightens — two people who don’t fully trust each other discovering they’re more similar than either would admit. The episode earns its dramatic beats by slowing down just long enough to let them land.

Vincenzo Episode 8
EP 08
The Bank Move
March 14, 2021
Vincenzo goes charm-offensive on a bank president who has been financing Babel’s operations. The comic register peaks here, and the show fully commits — absurd set pieces that somehow don’t undercut the genuine threat beneath them. Ok Taec-yeon’s Jang Jun-woo starts showing the edges of something that doesn’t fit his performed persona.

Vincenzo Episode 9
EP 09
Under One Roof
March 20, 2021
After a break-in at her apartment, Cha-young ends up in Vincenzo’s space — and the slow-burn between them finally has room to exist. Jeon Yeo-been plays the vulnerability without collapsing the character into softness. Meanwhile Joon-woo tightens the screws on his inner circle, and the threat level quietly escalates behind the warmth.

Vincenzo Episode 10
EP 10
Forced Into the Open
March 21, 2021
Vincenzo puts himself at real physical risk to drag Babel’s CEO out of hiding. The episode is about what someone is willing to sacrifice — and the answer, here, is a lot. One of the more structurally tight episodes of the run; the mechanics are clean, and the emotional cost is visible on Song Joong-ki’s face before any words are spoken.

Vincenzo Episode 11
EP 11
Hunt
March 27, 2021
The show confirms what kind of man Jang Jun-woo actually is — and Ok Taec-yeon finally gets to fully play it. The hunt for Han-seok begins in earnest, and the tone shifts from dark comedy to something that demands more from its audience. Ahn Gi-seok’s intervention to free Vincenzo buys time. Not resolution.

Vincenzo Episode 12
EP 12
The Takeover Attempt
March 28, 2021
Jang Han-seo makes a move on Babel’s leadership and discovers the distance between ambition and capability. Kwak Dong-yeon finds the most sympathetic register his character has had yet — a man trapped between brothers and systems, neither of which will let him simply leave. The episode closes with a quiet turning point at Geumga Plaza.

Vincenzo Episode 13
EP 13
The New Face of Babel
April 3, 2021
Han-seok assumes the CEO position with the composed authority of someone who has always expected to be here. Vincenzo responds the only way he knows how — a mafia-style boardroom welcome that makes it clear this is no longer a legal battle. The first major escalation in the final arc, and it lands with force.

Vincenzo Episode 14
EP 14
Undercover Together
April 4, 2021
Vincenzo and Cha-young go undercover as a couple to expose Han-seok’s shell company. The chemistry is at its most effective precisely because the fiction gives them permission to behave in ways they have been carefully avoiding. Seo Mi-ri’s technological reveal adds a new operational layer to how Babel has been running its operations.

Vincenzo Episode 15
EP 15
The Evidence Drops
April 10, 2021
Jung In-kuk’s press conference is a tactical win that immediately creates a new set of problems. Vincenzo’s use of a cursed newspaper — through methods that are spectacularly unhinged — captures everything distinctive about this show’s sense of humour in a single sequence. The walls are closing in on Han-seok. He knows it.

Vincenzo Episode 16
EP 16
The Cost of Caring
April 11, 2021
Han-seok figures out that the most effective way to reach Vincenzo is through the people Vincenzo has let himself care about. The most emotionally demanding episode in the run — the show forces a reckoning with what it means to have given anyone a reason to be used against you. Song Joong-ki’s grief lands without needing the usual dramatic scaffolding.

Vincenzo Episode 17
EP 17
Bleed Them Out
April 24, 2021
A grieving, focused Vincenzo crashes a Babel gala to systematically dismantle the group’s political alliances one by one. Han Seung-hyuk makes a choice about which side of history he wants to stand on. No comedy, no distractions — the episode is disciplined and effective, and it arrives exactly when the show needs it most.

Vincenzo Episode 18
EP 18
Safe Behind Bars
April 25, 2021
Han-seok calculates that prison offers better protection than freedom — and for now, he’s not wrong. A visitor from Italy arrives with news that changes Vincenzo’s timeline. Primarily setup, but it’s tight setup: every piece is placed with intent, and the final confrontation becomes visible from here.

Vincenzo Episode 19
EP 19
The Case Against Babel
May 1, 2021
Vincenzo and Cha-young present their full case against Babel Tower and its network of political enablers. Choi Myung-hee makes a final choice that clarifies exactly what she has always valued above everything else — and Kim Yeo-jin delivers it with the specific kind of cold conviction that has made this character unforgettable. The legal machinery is in motion. What remains is how far outside it Vincenzo is willing to go.

Vincenzo Episode 20
EP 20
The Consigliere’s Way
May 2, 2021
The finale resolves the central confrontation without blinking. Han-seok gets a reckoning that matches the scale of what he did — delivered in a way that is entirely consistent with who Vincenzo has been from episode one. The ending is bittersweet and deliberately open on the personal side, which is the right call. Some forms of justice don’t wait for courts.

Our honest read on why this drama is worth your time — and who it’s for.

⚡ Mafia Justice, Korean Style

🧠 Corrupt Systems Dismantled
🎭 Ok Taec-yeon Reborn
💛 The Geumga Family

Song Joong-ki learned Italian for this role — and that small, unnecessary-but-completely-necessary detail tells you exactly what kind of drama Vincenzo is. A show that takes its premise absurdly seriously while never forgetting it’s also a spectacle. The first few episodes ask for patience: the comedy is broad, the legal wrangling is dense, and the central conflict takes time to clarify itself. Hold on until episode four. That’s when the show decides to stop apologising for what it is and fully commits — a revenge drama that operates entirely on its own logic, and that logic turns out to be enormously satisfying.

Vincenzo (2021)

Ok Taec-yeon as Jang Han-seok is the drama’s genuinely unexpected gift. The character requires two modes — a performatively harmless persona and a genuinely terrifying one — and Taec-yeon executes the switch with precision. Whether this reads as a career-redefining performance or a well-executed one depends on what you’ve seen him in before. For anyone who’d written him off: this is the evidence. Kim Yeo-jin as Choi Myung-hee runs it close — a woman of pure, undisguised ambition who is never played for shock, only for scale.

Twenty episodes is a long runway, and the show doesn’t always use the extra space wisely — a few mid-run episodes meander when they should drive forward, and some of the courtroom theatrics outstay their welcome. But the ensemble at Geumga Plaza earns its screen time, and the final four episodes are among the most focused the show ever gets. The ending doesn’t wrap everything with a bow: Vincenzo walks away from something, not toward it. It’s a harder, more honest conclusion than most dramas this popular would risk. One of the definitive K-dramas of 2021. Earn it by getting through the first three episodes.
