Action

When respect collapses in schools and teachers struggle to discipline unruly students, the South Korean government creates the Educational Rights Protection Bureau (ERPB) — a special task force granted unprecedented authority to restore order. Na Hwa-jin (Kim Moo-yul), a no-frills ERPB inspector with special ops skills, is sent to problem schools as a supervisor where he can educate students without any restrictions or limitations. Working alongside ex-special forces inspector Im Han-rim (Jin Ki-joo) and KAIST graduate Bong Geun-dae (Pyo Ji-hoon), Hwa-jin tackles school violence, bullying, drug dealing, and corrupt education officials who have let the system rot from the inside.

Adapted from the popular Naver webtoon Get Schooled by Chae Yong-taek and Han Ga-ram, Teach You a Lesson exists in the same universe as the 2025 series Study Group. The premise is blunt and deliberately provocative: what happens when the government stops pretending the usual rules are enough? The answer the show delivers is kinetic, satisfying, and — by the finale — unexpectedly moving.

📺 Episode Guide

Spoiler-light recaps — enough to remember where you left off, nothing that ruins the lesson.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 1 — First Day of School
EP 01
First Day of School
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
Na Hwa-jin arrives at his first assignment: a school held hostage by a politician’s untouchable son. The episode wastes no time establishing what this show is — the ERPB’s authority is absolute, and Hwa-jin’s methods are exactly as blunt as they look. The son’s face when he realizes no one is coming to save him is the moment the series snaps into focus.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 2 — Gang Mentality
EP 02
Gang Mentality
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
Bong Geun-dae joins the team and immediately proves that intelligence is its own form of force. A school gang has been terrorizing anyone who tries to study — and Hwa-jin’s approach to dismantling them is methodical in a way that’s almost more unsettling than the violence. The episode also does the most important thing a second episode can do: make you care about the one student at the center of it.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 3 — No Rules Left
EP 03
No Rules Left
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
The third school is the messiest yet — no single bully to confront, just a complete collapse of authority. Hwa-jin has to operate differently here, and Kim Moo-yul plays the adjustment with a weariness that hadn’t shown up before. It’s the first episode where the show asks whether Hwa-jin’s method is actually sustainable — and doesn’t fully answer it.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 4 — Elite Problems
EP 04
Elite Problems
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
An elite school, a teacher assaulted by her own student, and a political attack against Choi Kang-seok’s bureau — the episode runs two storylines simultaneously and mostly pulls it off. Lee Sung-min gets his best scene here, defending the bureau in front of people who would rather it didn’t exist. The elite school case lands a gut punch that the show earns.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 5 — Parents
EP 05
Parents
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
The most difficult episode to watch — not because of the violence, but because of the parents. Hwa-jin confronts families who refuse to acknowledge what their children have done, and the show refuses to play it for easy catharsis. When the lesson finally lands, it lands on the adults. That’s the episode’s real argument.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 6 — Extracurricular
EP 06
Extracurricular
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
Four teenagers who think immunity is a lifestyle. The team tracks their crimes outside school hours — things they committed believing the ERPB’s mandate didn’t extend that far. It does. The episode has the series’ tightest procedural writing, and the moment of reckoning is staged with a bluntness that feels genuinely satisfying without feeling cheap.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 7 — All In
EP 07
All In
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
Geun-dae goes undercover — and the episode belongs entirely to Pyo Ji-hoon, who plays the con with a careful nervousness that makes every scene feel like it could collapse. The youth gambling network case is darker than anything before it, and the father-son dynamic at its center gives the show its most human moment so far. Han-rim’s instincts prove right when it matters most.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 8 — The Real Crime
EP 08
The Real Crime
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
A pre-med student collapses, an obsessive mother, illegal pills, and a murder the show has been quietly building toward. The episode reveals what happened to Choi Ga-yun — she figured out Cho Gyu-cheol’s drug operation and confronted him, and was killed for it. It’s the sharpest hour of the series and the one that earns everything that comes after.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 9 — Return
EP 09
Return
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
Gyu-cheol is out on parole and already back inside another school — and the bureau is running out of conventional options. Han-rim goes undercover with a new alias; her scenes here are Jin Ki-joo at her most controlled, threading real menace through a character who mostly operates on instinct. The finale’s premise is locked in before the episode’s final frame.

Teach You a Lesson Episode 10 — The Last Lesson
EP 10
The Last Lesson
June 5, 2026 · Netflix
The bureau, stripped of public support, moves alone — pulling together every teacher from every school where they’ve intervened. It’s a finale that earns its scale. The final confrontation with Gyu-cheol does the one thing a good finale should: it doesn’t just end the plot, it reframes the show’s entire argument. What makes it land is what Hwa-jin chooses not to do.

🏁 Ending Explained

Full spoilers ahead — everything that happens in the finale and what it all means.

⚠️
Spoiler Warning — This section covers the full finale of Teach You a Lesson. Stop here if you haven’t finished the series.

The Bureau Goes Rogue. After the ERPB is publicly condemned — the media framing Hwa-jin’s methods as state-sanctioned brutality — Choi Kang-seok is forced to suspend operations through official channels. Hwa-jin, Han-rim, and Geun-dae refuse to stop. Instead, they reach out to every teacher from every school where they have intervened, assembling a coalition that operates outside the bureau’s formal structure. It’s the show’s most explicit statement: the institutions failed first. The people inside them didn’t have to.

Teach You a Lesson (2026) Episode 9 — Return

Gyu-cheol’s Network Exposed. The teachers gather evidence that maps the drug supply chain running through multiple schools simultaneously — not isolated incidents, but a coordinated operation that had been hiding in plain sight for months. The scale of it is the finale’s first genuine shock. Gyu-cheol isn’t a lone bad actor who slipped through the cracks. He was operating because the system created the conditions that let him operate. The show is careful not to excuse him, but it is equally careful not to let the adults off the hook either.

The Final Confrontation. Hwa-jin corners Gyu-cheol at the school — and the scene does something unexpected with what could easily have been a standard action beat. Gyu-cheol, stripped of every layer of bravado, is revealed as a student who never understood why no adult ever cared enough to stop him before things went this far. He didn’t want to become what he became. He wanted someone to teach him that there were consequences. Hwa-jin stops himself from going further. He lets the arrest happen. It’s the best scene in the series.

Teach You a Lesson (2026) Episode 5 — Parents

What Happens to the Bureau. With the evidence secured and Gyu-cheol arrested, the public narrative shifts. The teachers who stepped forward become impossible to dismiss. Kang-seok’s suspension is lifted. The ERPB is not just reinstated — it gains formal legal protections it did not have before. The show ends with the bureau continuing, its mandate unchanged, with one additional piece of institutional backing it had to earn through a crisis. The final image is not triumphant. It is steady. That distinction matters.

Safe Education Is Everyone’s Right. The ending returns to the webtoon’s central argument, which the series has been dramatizing for ten episodes without making explicit until now. Hwa-jin delivers a monologue to his assembled coalition of teachers — not a speech about violence or authority, but about the obligation to show up. The show is not naive enough to suggest that Hwa-jin’s approach can scale. But it does suggest that people who refuse to look away are always going to be the necessary first step. It’s a heavy thing to ask of anyone. It’s the only thing that ever actually works.

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take

Our honest read on why this drama is worth your time — and who it’s for.

⚡ High-Octane Action🏫 School Vigilante💢 Cathartic Justice🧠 Procedural Thriller💔 Unexpectedly Moving

Kim Moo-yul has the build and the presence to carry an action drama, but what makes his work in Teach You a Lesson worth paying attention to is the restraint underneath it. Hwa-jin is not a vigilante who enjoys what he does — he’s a man who decided that somebody has to, and accepted the cost of that. Moo-yul plays it with a physical economy that keeps the character from tipping into wish-fulfillment. The action is brutal and unapologetic, but it never feels like the point. The webtoon’s premise — what if the state gave someone actual authority to intervene in school environments, no bureaucratic softening — is provocative enough to risk becoming a revenge fantasy. Moo-yul’s performance is what keeps it from crossing that line.

Teach You a Lesson (2026) — cinematic still

The show’s biggest structural risk is its episodic format — each assignment a new school, a new set of antagonists, a fresh problem to solve. That formula can feel repetitive, and episodes four through six are where it tests your patience most. The comfort is that the ensemble carries more weight as the series progresses: Jin Ki-joo’s Han-rim gets a genuinely compelling undercover arc, and Pyo Ji-hoon’s Geun-dae turns out to be the emotional throughline more than the comic relief the early episodes suggest. If you’re a fan of Study Group (2025) — the webtoon universe predecessor — you’ll recognize the DNA immediately; Teach You a Lesson is darker and more operatic in its finale, but the core impulse is the same.

The finale does something rare for an action drama: it earns its emotional note without softening what came before. The Gyu-cheol confrontation lands because the show has spent ten episodes demonstrating that the system failed this person before he failed anyone else — and Hwa-jin’s decision not to become the version of himself the scene is pushing him toward is the series’ most considered beat. The ending is not triumphant. It is steady. In a drama about what it costs to show up for other people, that’s exactly right.
