📺 Episode Guide

New episodes air every Saturday and Sunday starting July 4, 2026 on KBS2 and Disney+. Recaps will be added after each episode airs.

The Husband Episode 1EP 01
The Only Way Out
July 4, 2026

The premiere opens on a marriage that’s been over for years but hasn’t had the paperwork to prove it. Tae-ju’s divorce demand meets a wall — Se-yun refuses, telling him coldly the only exit from this marriage is through a funeral. Then she disappears. The staged footage from their final, drunk argument makes him the obvious suspect. In one episode, a bitter domestic standoff becomes a criminal investigation, and the man who wanted out of his marriage can’t leave without looking like he arranged her exit himself.

The Husband Episode 2EP 02
The Price Doubles
July 5, 2026

The one billion won is ash before episode two begins — Noh Man-hee doubles the demand, and Tae-ju has nothing left to give. The flashbacks hurt most for arriving here: the man watching Se-yun laugh like she means it is the same man the police are handcuffing by the end. She, meanwhile, is already reading her cell like a blueprint, clocking exits — and a stranger appears claiming to know what really happened.

The Husband Episode 3EP 03
A Name for the Wound
July 11, 2026

The marriage’s real wound finally has a name: Hayun, the daughter neither of them says out loud, dead because Tae-ju wasn’t in the room when her surgery went wrong. That fact recasts every cold silence between the leads as grief wearing a fight’s clothes. Tae-ju breaks free of custody with help from a stranger, Lee Su-hyeong, whose timing is suspiciously perfect. Se-yun finds an hourglass in her cell — a deadline made physical — and starts working the room for a way out.

The Husband Episode 4EP 04
Chasing the Same Ghost
July 12, 2026

Su-hyeong’s help has a price tag: his own wife was taken by the same kidnapper six years ago, which makes this alliance two men chasing the same ghost, not a favor. Tae-ju leans into looking guilty on purpose, publicly demanding ransom from Se-yun’s parents to smoke Man-hee into the open — a plan that only works if everyone believes the worst about him first. Se-yun’s escape attempt costs another captive her life, and Man-hee’s cruelty stops being implied.

The Husband Episode 5EP 05
The Deal Is Over
July 18, 2026

The bait Tae-ju sets for Man-hee backfires in the worst way: every move he makes gets read before he makes it, which only works if someone inside his own circle is talking. Se-yun’s latest escape attempt finally pays off with something real — a clue about who’s actually been holding her — right as police close in on Tae-ju and a gun goes off in the middle of it all. Man-hee’s parting line, that their deal is over, reads less like a threat and more like a man who no longer needs Tae-ju at all.

The Husband Episode 6EP 06
Turning the Tables
July 19, 2026

Tae-ju finally has a name for the man running this operation, and his answer is to turn Man-hee’s own tactics against him — taking Kyeong-ae hostage to force her husband’s hand. The rescue works, but the getaway doesn’t stay clean, and it ends with Man-hee landing a blow that draws blood. The real damage is the manipulated footage he showed Se-yun in captivity — she comes out trusting her rescuer less than she did going in.

The Husband Episode 7EP 07
Rescued and Arrested
July 25, 2026

Man-hee stops hiding what he is, and the reveal is worse than anything Se-yun feared — he and Kyeong-ae have her trapped, feeding her a lie that Tae-ju ordered the kidnapping himself. Tae-ju, who’s already pieced together Man-hee’s real identity, doesn’t wait for backup: a violent confrontation turns into a car chase, and he gets her out. The rescue costs him everything anyway — he’s arrested right after saving her, and the timing couldn’t be crueler for a relationship that just started trusting itself again.

The Husband Episode 8EP 08
What They Had Before the Grief
July 26, 2026

A flashback shows what Tae-ju and Se-yun had before the grief — happier days with Hayun that make his surgical devotion read less like ambition and more like the one thing holding the marriage together. In the present, Se-yun’s maneuvering gets him out of custody just in time to operate on Kyeong-ae, over Dr. Ko’s objections about missing funds. Tae-ju’s resolve to protect Se-yun keeps hardening while Man-hee, working a new nurse inside Uri Hamkke Hospital, makes clear his plans reach further than one kidnapping.

The Husband Episode 9EP 09
A Confession No One Heard
August 1, 2026

Dr. Ha’s death lands less like an accident and more like a confession nobody got to hear – his prior contact with Kyung-ae turns a convenient tragedy into evidence of a cover-up. Se-yun starts digging through her own father’s study for the documents Tae-ju’s been chasing, a search that says everything about how far her loyalty to Dr. Ko has eroded. Kyung-ae wakes up insisting she’s the victim, not the conspirator, right as Man-hee blackmails a nurse for hospital intel – with Dr. Ko’s fetal stem cell project underneath it all, tying Man-hee and Kyung-ae’s past together.

The Husband Episode 10EP 10
Too Close to Home
August 2, 2026

Dr. Ha’s death keeps unraveling backward through flashbacks that make the stem cell project look worse with every detail. Se-yun turns her suspicion inward, searching her father’s records for proof he was involved in her abduction, a betrayal she’s bracing for but not ready to find. Police connect Dr. Ha to Kyung-ae before his death, and she wakes up insisting she is the victim, not the conspirator, while a nurse’s overheard panic about getting caught widens the cover-up and Man-hee gears up for another act of violence.

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take

Our honest read on why this drama is worth your time — and who it’s for.

🔪 Edge-of-Seat Tension💔 Marriage on the Brink🕵️ Conspiracy Thriller💉 Medical Drama Roots

The premise alone makes The Husband one of the more intriguing premieres of the second half of 2026: a couple finalizing their divorce, only for the wife to be kidnapped the very next day. It’s a setup that promises both an emotional gut-punch and a ticking-clock thriller, and pairing it with Namkoong Min — an actor who’s built a career on morally layered, high-pressure roles — feels like a deliberate choice to anchor the chaos with a performance audiences will trust.

The Husband (2026) — cinematic still

What’s most interesting is how the show frames Tae-ju’s motivation. He isn’t racing to save a marriage he still believes in — he’s racing to save someone he was about to walk away from, which opens the door for the drama to explore guilt, regret, and whether love can be redefined under crisis rather than simply rekindled. If the writing leans into that nuance instead of flattening it into a generic “love wins” arc, this could be a standout. Buried Hearts fans who enjoyed marriage-secrets-meet-crime territory should keep an eye on this one.

We’ll hold off on a full verdict until episodes start airing on July 4 — but the combination of a strong lead, a KBS2 weekend-drama runtime built for slow-burn tension, and a premise this loaded with secrets gives The Husband a genuinely promising starting point.
