Choi Joon-woong (Rowoon) is an unemployed graduate desperate for work — someone who rushes toward danger instead of away from it. After leaping to save a man about to jump from a bridge, he lands in a coma and finds himself in an in-between state: half-human, half-spirit. The supernatural organization Jumadeung offers him a deal — join their Crisis Management Team of grim reapers and wake up in six months, or stay unconscious for three years. He takes the contract.
