Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) (Season 3)
📋 Drama Overview
The setup, the stakes, and where to watch — all in one place.
Season 3 opens with a birth and, within two episodes, a tragedy: Song Won goes into labor with Pan Sa-hyeon beside her, and the joy of the new baby does not last. From there the series changes shape. Seo Ban confesses to his longtime crush Lee Si-eun, Seo Dong-ma starts a whirlwind romance with Sa Pi-young, and Boo Hye-ryung begins to behave like someone else, which the family begins to suspect is possession.
It is the last of three seasons and the one that leans furthest into the supernatural: ghosts, an exorcism and grim reapers who sit watching the new couples at home. According to The Fact, the finale was the season’s most-watched episode at 10.4% nationwide, and The Fact called its ending open. Ready Steady Cut described the same ending as confusing.

🏁 Ending Explained
Full spoilers from this point — what happened, and why.
Seo Ban, Pi-young and a confession Both sources we read agree on the first stretch of the finale. Seo Ban complains to his father that he favours Sa Pi-young, and his father explains that she is pregnant, which clears the air. Kim Dong-mi confesses in front of Shin Yu-sin that she fed his father Shin Gi-rim food that was bad for him until he died, and she is committed to a psychiatric hospital. The sources differ slightly on the detail: The Fact says Dong-mi confessed to Yu-sin directly and mentions flour and carbohydrates; Ready Steady Cut says A-mi told Yu-sin what Dong-mi had done and describes fatty food. Both agree that Dong-mi ends the episode in hospital care.
The reapers’ warning The Fact reports that the grim reapers tell Song Won’s spirit that they have someone to take, and that when they appear, someone will die within a month, but the days that follow are peaceful. Ready Steady Cut says the reapers do not tell Song Won whom they have come for. The reapers keep turning up in the house, and Ready Steady Cut says they seem to follow Dong-ma wherever he goes.
New beginnings and old wounds Lee Si-eun learns that she is pregnant, and both sources say she tells Seo Ban, who is overjoyed, and then his father, who is moved. Boo Hye-ryung is in hospital with pain no test can explain. In Ready Steady Cut’s version, a doctor says her problem is neurological, and she thinks she is dying. The Fact adds that she guesses the sex of a nurse’s baby and sees a vision of Sa-hyeon and A-mi together. She also sees the child spirit and asks it its name. Ready Steady Cut notes that Ga-bin and Hae-ryun have drinks and talk about getting back together, and that Yu-sin learns Pi-young is pregnant.
Dong-ma and the falling panel Before Pi-young’s birthday dinner, Seo Dong-ma goes to a department store to buy clothes for after she gives birth. The Fact says spirits with ruined faces appear beside him and a wall panel falls on him, and he is taken away in an ambulance covered in blood. Ready Steady Cut has a ceiling segment hitting him on the head, and says that in the ambulance he wakes up and asks the grim reapers who they are. Neither source says whether he lives.
A final montage, left open The Fact says Pi-young gives birth and that the series then ends on an image of Sa-hyeon and A-mi kissing in a bubble bath. Ready Steady Cut mentions the bathtub kiss and also a quick vision of Seo Ban at a wedding with Song Won. The Fact calls it an open ending designed to spark the viewer’s imagination; Ready Steady Cut calls it confusing and probably the most random finale ever. Not reported in the sources we read: whether Dong-ma survives, who the grim reapers came for, and what happens to Hye-ryung’s condition.
✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take
Our honest opinion — and the kind of viewer who’ll love it most.
The final season flips the premise. The first two seasons were about marriages ending; this one is about what happens when the same people try again, with Seo Ban and Si-eun and Dong-ma and Pi-young as the new couples. It keeps the temperature up: an exorcism, a haunted household and a pair of reapers who sit in on dinner. Watch Season 1 first if you want the full backstory.
What separates season 3 from the earlier ones is how seriously it treats the supernatural. The Fact singles out the staging of the possession scenes, with different spirit effects depending on who is possessed. If you like a thriller edge in your family melodrama, Perfect Marriage Revenge is a cousin of sorts.
The finale is the usual point of disagreement. The Fact called it an open ending that leaves things to the imagination, while Ready Steady Cut thought it random. Both can be true: it resolves the Dong-mi storyline and leaves the rest hanging.
