She watched her husband hold her sister’s hand while she bled out. The revenge isn’t a mood — it’s the only logical response to what happened to her. That weight keeps the show from floating off into pure escapism even when the production leans hard into its makjang pleasures. If you’ve enjoyed Marry My Husband or Little Women, this belongs in the same company.
Sung Hoon as Do-guk is the drama’s most pleasant surprise. The chaebol lead archetype can easily become a function — a tall, handsome vehicle for second-hand power — but Sung Hoon finds a genuine register for Do-guk’s transition from cool strategist to someone who is simply, helplessly drawn to Yi-ju.
