Gift
📋 Drama Overview
The essentials — before you press play.
Jung Min-yong (Kim Woo-bin) spent his career as a pitching coach for the pro team Manders. Then an unexpected accident leaves him with an ability nobody else has, and he lands a job he would never have chosen: head coach of Deokcheon High, a baseball club ranked last in the country. His new boss on the school side is Yoon Seo-jin (Seo Eun-soo), a PE teacher who runs the club and has her own ideas about how a team should be built.
Gift is adapted from the baseball webtoon of the same name by Jeong Iri Iri, serialized on Kakao Webtoon, and it premieres Saturday, December 5, 2026 on tvN at 9:10 p.m. KST as a 12-episode weekend drama. The pitch in the official synopsis is one season of baseball described as hot, fierce, and tearful, and the promotional material keeps circling one question: how much of winning is talent, and how much is the effort it takes to grow into it?

✍️ KDramaWorlds Editor’s Take
Worth the watch? Our honest answer, and who it’s aimed at.
A last-place team and a new coach with an edge nobody can explain is a reliable engine for a sports drama, and Gift adds a fantasy layer on top of it instead of leaning only on training montages. The closest comparison on the site for an ordinary person handed an unusual ability is Moving, though Gift keeps its stakes on a baseball diamond rather than a battlefield.
The most interesting pairing is the argument at the center. Jung believes in results and Yoon believes the growing-up process matters as much as the scoreboard, and Seo Hyun-woo’s Ahn Gi-man, acting manager of the Manders, represents the results-only view in its purest form. If a young team under pressure is what you came for, Weak Hero Class 1 covers very different ground but shares the school setting.
No episode has aired, so this is anticipation, not a verdict. We will add episode recaps once Gift begins airing in December.
