Goo Jun-yeong fully commits to the team, using the analytical skills he once aimed at dismantling their process to strengthen it instead. Na Gang-nam, Baek Eo-jin, Shin Dae-ryuk, and the rest of Neon Webtoon’s artists get to keep making the work that matters to them, because an entire department chose to fight for that outcome. The finale doesn’t invent a bigger crisis to manufacture stakes — it just lets everyone keep doing, with more confidence, exactly what they’d already been building toward.

Does Ma-eum succeed as an editor? Yes — by the finale, On Ma-eum has earned a reputation as a respected webtoon editor, someone artists trust specifically because she’s proven, case by case, that she’ll fight for them. There’s no single promotion or award moment confirming it — just the accumulated trust of every artist she’s worked with across the season, which is a more convincing kind of proof.

What happens to Seok Ji-hyung? Having spent the season mentoring Ma-eum, Ji-hyung settles into a steadier version of himself — less unreadable poker face, more genuine pillar of support for the department he’s clearly always cared about. His arc resolves quietly: no dramatic confession, just a colleague who’s finally comfortable letting people see that he’s invested.

Does Goo Jun-yeong actually change? He does, and the show earns it by showing the work instead of skipping to the result. Jun-yeong spends the back half of the season slowly redirecting the analytical skills he once used to dismiss the webtoon team toward actually supporting them, and by the finale he’s a fully integrated, valued member of the department he walked in ready to optimize into oblivion.

What happens to the artists — Gang-nam, Eo-jin, and Dae-ryuk? All three get to keep creating. Na Gang-nam works through his creative block, Baek Eo-jin’s pressure eases without his talent being diminished, and Shin Dae-ryuk grows past his social anxiety enough to genuinely connect with readers. None of it happens because of a single fix — it happens because Ma-eum and the team kept showing up for each artist’s specific, unglamorous problem.

The KDW verdict Today’s Webtoon never needed a bigger crisis than ‘can this team keep doing work they believe in’ — and it’s stronger for refusing to manufacture one. The finale skips the promotion narrative and the romance payoff in favor of something smaller: a department that survived because Ma-eum and her colleagues chose, repeatedly, to fight for the people making the actual art. That’s a modest note to end a season on, and the show has more than earned the right to end on it.
